8 Million Sign Declaration Supporting Mothers, Rejecting Feminism

Moms matter. The position of mothers in society should be elevated rather than being squelched by those feminists or others who belittle their value. Those are some of the key messages from Homemakers for America, a group that hosted a press conference at the Phyllis Schlafly Center in Washington, DC on March 8.

The group selected that location because Phyllis Schlafly made it her life’s work to defend the same principles that Homemakers for America now champions.

They were celebrating an international movement that has taken off like a rocket since it began less than a year ago in May 2017. At that time, the organization published its Declaration of Mothers. Already more than 8 million people in 150 countries worldwide and in all 50 states of the U.S. have signed the declaration, which announces to everyone, from elected leaders to policy makers and the media, what principles the signers want to have defended and spread throughout society.

Below are some of the highlights:

“As the mothers, primary Makers of the Homes of America and molders of the future of our nation, we declare that the liberty and freedom of all people begin in the home and that a nation is but a magnified home. The values and virtues taught within the family will determine the values and virtues of the nation as a whole.

“We recognize the sacred role of mother as the heart of the home and home as the heart of society. The liberty of each individual begins in the home and parents are, first and foremost, the primary teachers and protectors of their children in a free society. Properly constructed social, religious, and governmental institutions are designed to support and strengthen the family unit, not replace it or regulate it. No association or government organization can replace the family no matter how well-intentioned or well-designed it may be.

“Living as a free people in a free society is directly linked to being a people of faith, virtue, and patriotism—the three pillars of liberty. Homes and families with mothers who nurture and teach these principles produce leaders who honor and hold sacred the nobility of the individual.

“Each generation is responsible for safeguarding the Constitution and teaching their children the responsibilities associated with the preservation of this sacred document and the rights secured by it.

“Each member of the human race is born with intrinsic dignity and the right to liberty, self-determination, and self-governance. The individual’s responsibility of work, education, and industry are crucial elements of self-governance in society and the preservation of human dignity.

“…Each generation has a responsibility to instill a love of liberty and virtue in the hearts of the next generation.”

Homemakers for America pushes back against radical feminists and anti-motherhood agendas.

“It is clear that despite what the media and radical feminists would have us believe, the pink-hatted protestors do not speak for the majority of women in America—or the world,” the HomeMakers for America said in a press release about the March 8 event. They also said that the political left belittles the role of motherhood and pointed out the value of mothers for not just children and families, but also the entire community and society.

Numerous governors in various U.S. states have also announced that March 8 is International Mothers Influence Day, and earlier this year Rep. Diane Black (R-TN) entered the declaration into the Congressional Record.

Coming up later this year, the 2018 Mom’s March for America will take place on November 2nd and 3rd in Georgetown, Texas.

In January 2018, HomeMakers for America linked arms with women globally to issue the Worldwide Declaration of Mothers, which has already been signed by people in more than 150 countries around the world.

Kimberly Fletcher, president and founder of HomeMakers for America, said the movement has come along at a key time. “Now more than ever we need the influence of good women in America—for our children’s sake and the future our nation,” Fletcher said.

“Mothers are the hope of America,” she added. “We literally hold the future of America in our hands.” Indeed. And large numbers of men and women throughout the entire U.S. and world wholeheartedly agree.

  1. About time. I was just thinking how the
feminist movement is really anything but!
So thank you ~you will achieve any goals
    you wish to achieve!

    • It’s vital that all wholesome values have become lost in the smeared ‘gray’ Line. The Mothers are the heart of our homes, but also the “hand that rocks the cradle’” and this line is a solid black line. A very clear distinction! I’m Not a part of the “pink hat” movement because it’s actually a destructive movement instead is a constructive movement. We Must have God, Family, Health and real Friends to teach our young people these most important Values. ‘Feminism’ is okay, in a level where it Respects Motherhood and Our Homes only! There is a clear distinction, however.

  2. “Homemakers of America” Now here’s a group that I highly respect their ideals and message. Family matters!

  3. Mothers are the backbone of America! Mothers who are pro-life and accept responsibility for the well being and care of our children are the strongest women on earth and they can and will rise up against this modern fem movement that is selfish and self-aggrandizing!

  4. Feminism is destroying the purpose and concept of marriage and family. It is destroying society and the natural order of human life between men and women. Feminism is the foundation of lgbtq–they go hand in hand. Feminists are not interested in equality, they are after extra privileges, to straddle the fence, have everything both ways only when it is convenient, beneficial, and definitely advantageous. They have more legal and social rights over men in marriage/divorce/parental rights and custody. Women do not pay the same penalties or serve the same sentence time as men when they commit the same exact crime. Women want to do everything at men’s expense. How can women be equal yet expect men to protect them or be gentle when they are violent? Women are not women anymore; women are not ladies anymore, yet they expect men to be the same. Women want to be in charge but not be held accountable for their decisions and failures. They want to be bosses and leaders, yet very few of them are effective communicators nor possess leadership qualities and responsibility. They only worship money and false images, and material things—-see hillary rodham clinton. These are the reasons precisely why men like myself are going there own way. Also, this is why men are withdrawing from this so-called society and the corporate workplace that caters to feminists by encroaching on men’s comfort zones and spaces, and denigrating everything masculine in NATURE .

  5. How wonderfully refreshing to see & hear these values professed once again, from those persons who actually have the fate of this nation & the direction it will go, in the palm of their hands. This is one of the most heart-warming links I’ve had the pleasure of reading in quite some time. Thank you for posting it. Not surprisingly, this sort of “news” will seldom be seen on any of the “normal” news channels, so it is increasingly important that this & any other points of our conservative values be promoted as often as possible. Kudos to the many who stood by in solidarity to the American Mothers who gave their lives & their inspiration to those we’ll be dependent upon in our future. God bless them all. It would be great to have our great new president include his support for this movement, as well. God bless America.

  6. Anyone can do a job that they are given instructions and training to do. Far more important and demanding is a mother’s job giving love and nurturing a baby while teaching them to become a well-adjusted individual who has capabilities beyond ones dreams. So grateful i WAS BLESSED AS A MOTHER OF THREE.

  7. Seems like a real fake news headline. Why would women want to go back in time, when families today need that second income to keep the family moving forward.

    • Being a great Mother is not going back in time. It is timeless. Nor does a second income necessarily keep a family “moving forward”. I work in after school care at our public schools and see a lot of miserable children, many of whom are developing early behavioral issues. They need a mom (or dad) home instead of being pawned off to the schools to guide and care for them after school. We do our best, but I fear for some of these kids.

  8. I believe that the mother has been in a position of responsibility and prime influence in many cases throughout the world because , more often than not, she was ,more often than not, the person given the obligation to take care of the child during it’s early years as well as in later years in many instances. This has been true in a great number of countries but not all. More often than not, women can take a great deal of the credit for the positive as well as well as some psychological differing that might be considered
negative, as to how the child considers, how to live their life. Because it is a women who
bears the child, I believe there can be a natural tendency for the child to naturally grow up closer and more dependent on her. However, in certain circumstances, the male may end up having to provide the similar close ties and help in raising the child and thus may become the dominant influence. In the U.S. I believe this later is happening to some extant simply because more women are working mothers than their used to be and the male may becoming more influential when that happens.

  9. Not all women support abortion.
Not all women put down men or portray them as evil villains who keep women down.
I’m sick of the witch hunt against the President & ready for the prosecution of Hillary, IRS, FBI & DOJ
I’m not for illigal immigration & DOCA

  10. God created the family and government. It is man who has destroyed the family unit as a nation or nations. We should do all we can to restore family to the position of honor and respect it rightfully should enjoy.

  11. God Bless My “Stay at home wife” and mother of 6 for her devotion to God and her family!

  12. Thank you an praise all motehrs who haved signeed the petition. Can men sign the petition as well I do not see it here . But I am 100% in support of this petition and want to know what else I can do in reference to this great cause.
I am so tired of radical anarchy since 1968 in our colleges and Universities teaching an impressionable student base Politically incorrectness only for alt left an Alt Left that is much more aggressive than any conservative. We must keep the second amendment we must no longer support one dollar for Planned parenthood or PBS and NPR as they are not well balanced at all.
To be well balanced the PBS nightly news should say goodbye to Woodruff /Shields and Brooks and bring in Newt Genrich for the Conservative side and Biden for the Liberal side and then we should get a pretty balanced and intelligent debate.

Moms are the best and when we manage our government from the center this country does much better alt right and alt left is not the normal American’s take .

  13. Visit a school and observe the class from HELL for teachers and students. School principal won’t HELP. Welfare Illegals cause problems. Muslim boys have no respect for women teachers.
Hopefully new School Federal will deport these illegals causing problems.
    ICE, good place to raid.

  14. Hooray! Mothers are invaluable!!! whether they are at home full-time, or out in the workforce!!!
So-called ‘feminism’ has destroyed the family! I always felt feminine, didn’t need a group of radical bra-burning “fems” to tell me how I had to do such & such to be part of “their thing”!! NOW, I’ve been proven right!!!
Nor, are all men the villains which are being pushed to the front!! I had a wonderful husband, one who wanted me to do as & what I wished, to be a help-mate to me. No, he did NOT hold me back…from anything I chose to do!!!
    Go, MOTHERS!!!!

  15. this is probably one of the most profound proclamations of our time ,the women ,mothers and future mothers in America as well as the rest of the world should be held in high esteem for their statement of separation from those that would try to rob them of the position that their creator has placed them, I truly hope that this movement will increase exponentially as the times that we are now living in are demanding that they stand for their rights under God but also their rights under the constitution of these united states that God has also seen fit for us to live and to dwell in, a sovereign nation unlike any other in the entire world, to the women of the world I say stand your ground against the dark forces of liberalism, communism and any other form of governance that would steal your freedom and seek to place you into any form of bondage, may God bless the women of this world,AMEN

  16. Being a mother and having been a homemaker when my children were growing up, I fully support and am so proud of all Homemakers for America.

  17. A dedicated mother that believes in God is most important in the development of a child. The child has the best chance of success in that environment.

  18. Of all my supposed accomplishments, I consider the most important to be that of raising my son. I did some things right and lots of things wrong, but I followed my heart and did my best. He is now a grown man with children of his own, and I’d like to believe he’s doing a good job of raising them. I truly believe raising kids is the most difficult of tasks.

  19. Media is increasingly not dating their material. Just another reason journalism is getting a bad name. At least put it in the URL. We were taught back in the day to date absolutely everything so as to keep integrity and congruity for things like research. Actually helps the reader. What a concept.

  20. Its about time this nation stands up for life, motherhood, fathers, morals and family. Its time to stop the needless murdering of unborn babies.

  21. The avowed purpose of feminism is to destroy the family, and to make fathers disposable.

    Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

  22. This article extols mothers, family, and home. All well and good, however we don’t do as we say. Trump and our Republican party are literally ripping families apart, tearing children from their mothers and vice-versa, in the rush to send immigrants away. Or maybe our reverence for moms and family doesn’t apply to darker-skinned folks?????

    • The people to whom you are referring are illegal aliens. Don’t forget that tens of thousands of people apply LEGALLY to enter and live in the US. Many of THEM also had to split up their families.

Don’t forget that the decision to come here, either legally or not is their choice. Nobody forced them to LEAVE the country where their parents were born.

This has nothing to do with “skin color” and you know it.

      Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

  23. It is encouraging to read this and I will sign any document to show I am all woman and do not like the feminine movement. I love being a wife, mother and now a grandmother. women are blessed

  24. I am so happy to see a woman’s group stand up to the “pink hat” wearing idiots. Count me in! Thanks for letting people know most women are not feminists and do not want to share our bathrooms!

    Peggy from Sacramento

  25. It appears to me that “feminism” has morphed into “baby-killing”. The ridiculous claim that women have a right to kill an unborn baby that is actually in their womb is outrageous and downright murderous. Women should be reminded of — and try to remember — that the Rowe vs Wade decision was based on LIES. I would think that a woman might realize that the most essential right of a woman is the right to be born! After all the women were all allowed to be born. They need to remember that, and then have the dignity and honesty to remember that the most essential right of a MAN is the right to be born! Real women, the people who have raised almost all living persons with love and care, are loving and caring. But loving and caring people don’t kill babies.

  26. Thank you God for raising up people of truth and common sense. We must get active to save our country. Let us know what we can do in Az.

  27. I have been reading aloud to a group colleagues in the office and we all agree that mothers are the most important factor in society. This is so important…as if God is stepping in to safe the world.

  28. Please use the strength and positivity of your group to publicize the horrid abuse of fathers and their children inside the biased, prejudicial and ultra feminist Family Law Court System.
Thousands of judges are using the tactics of :
    seizing the matter;
    removal of the man’s standing before the court;
    summary judgement
uncontested divorce to emasculate, humiliate and impoverish fathers and make it impossible for them to parent their children.

  29. Feminism is a ploy to destroy the family unit.Take over the schools , healthcare , destroy the family unit and remove God.
What do you have ? Communism

  30. Where is the link to the Declaration in the article about it? I didn’t see it. My mom was a homemaker most of my childhood and I was lucky! It’s the ideal situation for children & families!

  31. As a white man in today’s society, I am sick and tired of being attacked and blamed for everything by hateful racists, feminists, the lgbt movement, and the hateful, lying liberal media that only reports what leftist crap it wants to report. Reading the comments here was encouraging.

  32. For the people in this so called movement it has nothing to do with supporting women. They wouldn’t recognize a real lady if they met one. No, it is about promoting a socialist political agenda.

  33. I am delighted to see the silent majority speaking up for values that have made this country great!
