Communities along the U.S.-Mexico border descended into unprecedented lawlessness due to Joe Biden’s weak policies. Now, cartels use insurgents armed with military-grade firepower to hold sway.
The dishonest left-wing media continues to avoid serious investigative reports because Biden and so-called “border czar” Kamala Harris treat children like cattle by cramming them into cages. That fact is that this is just part of a self-inflicted humanitarian crisis. Approximately 1 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended after reaching U.S. soil through mid-July. Crossings have increased every month since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris refused to enforce immigration laws. Drug cartels have made millions through human trafficking, with the southern border spiraling out of control. And narcotics have never been easier to smuggle into the U.S. with the White House’s “open border” policy in place.
The situation is so bad that state governments feel the need to handle the problem themselves.
“Even though the federal government may have abandoned their responsibility, we have not. President Biden’s open border policies have led to a disaster on our border, and the State of Texas is stepping up in the federal government’s absence to keep our communities safe,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott reportedly said.
The facts are that authorities on both sides of the border remain completely overwhelmed and virtually powerless to maintain any semblance of order. As a result, cartels have seized the opportunity to assert themselves much like ISIS did after the failed Obama-Biden troop withdrawal. Mirroring what occurred when Biden oversaw the premature military exit from the Middle East, regional warlords are slugging it out on Mexican streets for control of supply lines to the border. A recent firefight in the northern Mexico region of Zacatecas resulted in 18 dead among warring cartels.
Although violence surrounding cartels has resulted in a reported 300,000 deaths since 2006, a new escalation indicates a major power shift along the U.S.-Mexico border. Following arrests by law enforcement outfits, cartels deployed military-style hit squads to secure the release of leaders.
A man held by Mexican authorities by the name of Juan Francisco Vasquez, aka “Juanito,” was extracted by four heavily-armed gunmen in broad daylight from the border city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas. The hit squad reportedly stormed the city’s hospital where Juanito was being treated. Attackers reportedly set up roadblocks to prevent police pursuit after rescuing their mid-level crime boss. Mexican authorities maintain they have recaptured Juanito. However, the small-band assault pales by comparison to other insurgent activities along the border.
Just days before the hospital incursion, a cartel deployed a 30-strong platoon of commandos to secure the release of cartel leader Jose Alfredo “Metro 27” Hernandez Campos. Considered a high-level regional boss, members of the attack team reportedly included mercenaries as well as current members of the Mexican Army.
Using military-grade tactical gear and fully automatic weaponry, the assault team leveraged makeshift armored vehicles and multiple mounted 50-caliber machine guns. Like other brazen daylight extractions, the large hit team met Mexican authorities in the street before a court hearing and took Metro 27 at gunpoint.
Reports also indicate that cartels are actively engaged in large-scale oil theft and maintain operational control of a wide range of border towns. It’s difficult not to draw comparisons between Biden’s failed Middle East policies and the lawlessness caused by deliberately handing over control of the southern border to cartels.
