Comey Facing Legal Firestorm: Justice Closing In?

It looks like the truth is finally catching up to James Comey. After years of dodging accountability, the former FBI director is now under serious legal heat—and rightfully so. According to newly revealed court documents, Comey wasn’t just playing politics behind the scenes during the 2016 election. He was actively preparing to work for “President-elect Clinton” before a single vote was even cast.

Let that sink in. The man in charge of the most powerful law enforcement agency in America was already planning his role in a Clinton administration. And while the media was busy pushing false stories about Donald Trump and Russia, Comey and his inner circle were feeding the press secret information—anonymously, of course—to help control the public narrative.

The emails released by federal prosecutors are damning. Comey was in direct contact with Dan Richman, a Columbia University law professor and longtime friend. Richman wasn’t just casually chatting with reporters. He was strategically leaking details about the Clinton email investigation to The New York Times. And Comey knew all about it. In one email, Comey even thanked Richman, saying, “Well done, my friend.” That’s not law enforcement. That’s political scheming.

It gets worse. Comey later testified before Congress that he didn’t approve of anonymous leaks. That now appears to be a blatant lie. The Department of Justice says Comey not only knew about Richman’s media contacts—he encouraged them. That’s perjury, plain and simple.

And then there’s the Russia hoax. According to the court filing, Comey had handwritten notes from September 2016 that read “HRC plan to tie Trump.” That’s Hillary Rodham Clinton. Those notes were hidden in a secret FBI room and only recently came to light. Yet in 2020, when asked under oath if he knew about Clinton’s plan to smear Trump with bogus Russia ties, Comey said, “It doesn’t ring any bells with me.”

Really? Handwritten notes that actually use the words “HRC plan” don’t ring a bell? That’s convenient.

This is the same James Comey who stood in front of cameras in 2016 and unilaterally cleared Hillary Clinton of wrongdoing in her email scandal—despite clear evidence of mishandling classified information. Then, just days before the election, he reopened the case when more emails surfaced on disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner’s laptop. He played both sides, but always with one eye on protecting Clinton and the other on damaging Trump.

And let’s not forget that Richman also leaked Comey’s memos to the press in 2017, after President Trump rightly fired him. The goal? To spark the appointment of a special counsel to go after Trump. It worked, and we got years of the Mueller investigation—all based on lies.

Now, as more facts come to light, the walls are closing in. Comey isn’t a hero. He’s not a martyr. He’s a former FBI director who misused his power, lied to Congress, and tried to swing a presidential election from behind the curtain.

The American people deserve justice. And they deserve to know that no one—no matter how high their office—gets to lie, leak, and manipulate the system without consequences. James Comey thought he was above the law. It’s time he learned otherwise.
