We could talk about Evergreen State and the White Day of Absence. We could talk about Notre Dame and the disrespect of Vice President Mike Pence. We could talk about West Virginia University and the tape of student violence. These stories all happened in December 2017 alone.
As conservatives, we no longer have to cherry pick violent incidents on college campuses to make our point about liberal thuggism. These problems are becoming more prevalent across the nation, apparently because each group of bullies take heart from previous incidents.
None of these radical students are being punished to the degree that will stop them from bullying conservative students again. None of these liberal bullies are being taught how inefficient their tactics will be in the real world, when they will be sending their pointless petitions to bosses who will just fire them. They are denying conservatives the right to free speech, but they are also denying themselves a real education as well.
For their part, the young conservative students who are facing down this vile trend of bullying, physical imposition and intellectual dishonesty are some of the bravest Americans we have in this generation. What are we doing to help them?
If our young conservatives are not supported, they will come away from their college educations feeling intellectually disemboweled, as if they cannot espouse their views anywhere. They will not be able to fully represent the conservative values of self reliance, self improvement, and building – you know, all the things that make America great!
We finally have a president and an administration that is giving this entire country the chance to work and earn a living wage. Now is the time for Americans to gather their strength, pull themselves up by their bootstraps and take another look at the job market and the community around them. However, the trends that President Trump is trying to put in place will need to be upheld by future generations of conservatives. Where are these young stalwarts now?
They are in college being told that everything they think is wrong.
They are being called racists for simply telling people to have some responsibility for themselves. They are being silenced in classes when they should have an equal voice and be able to ask questions of their professors. They are being suspended, expelled, crucified in the court of public opinion and given negative social media records before they even hit the job market.
Where is the rest of conservative America to back up these valiant kids?
It is time that we demanded fair treatment from these colleges and universities who seem to have no limit on the money they can take from us, saying this money is for the education of our kids. Tuition paying parents must begin to demand fair treatment for their kids on these campuses. They should begin to demand preferential treatment, in fact. It is the liberal students who are taking advantage of the affirmative action and low cost programs to attend the schools that we are paying full price for.
It is time that we brought in our media contacts to counter the unhinged arrogance of the liberal hierarchy. There are people we entrust with order when we send our children to learn. If these people shirk their duties to all students to bring across some personal vendetta masked as a political point, we must ensure these staff and faculty are appropriately chastised in the court of public opinion. Even if we send our kids out of state, the media is more connected than ever. A local report in Kansas about the catastrophe that is UCLA still has the ability to make waves in California.
Our children are being maligned for no reason other than their political views. These young people are the future of what we build now. If you do not want the things that you build taken by future generations of liberal bullies under the guise of affirmative action, socialism or just plain old thuggism, then you must protect the people who will be protecting it in the future. We must, as conservatives, say “no more” to the bullying of our children on college campuses. This is our duty to our family, to conservative values, to the Trump administration and to America itself.
