Cuomo & DeSantis: A Fake News Tale of Two Governors

The fake news media loves a good story, and they don’t let pesky things like facts get in the way when the narrative compares a Democrat with a Republican.

And that’s precisely what happened during the early months of the pandemic. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo won the hearts of media storytellers with his “transparent” coronavirus press conferences. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis drew harsh criticism because he weighed the science and didn’t rush into lockdown mode.

“Well, if you go back to March, I was getting criticized for not closing the beaches, which you don’t close beaches for a respiratory virus. So, I was right on that. But the media totally ignored how the governors were handling the nursing homes,” Gov. DeSantis reportedly said. “We did an order right at the beginning saying hospitals cannot discharge COVID-positive nursing home residents back to nursing homes. By doing that, we saved hundreds, if not thousands, of lives. And so, we made the right decision at the outset. And again, the facts have borne us out over these many months.”

What we know now is that the fake news media swallowed Gov. Cuomo’s lies because he’s a Democrat. They attacked Gov. DeSantis because he wouldn’t be bullied into making poor decisions and worked effectively with former President Donald Trump.

Things look vastly different a year later as Cuomo is under federal investigation for covering up nursing home deaths. DeSantis appears poised for a potential White House bid in 2024.

The New York Democrat panicked during the initial weeks of the crisis and ordered patients infected with COVID-19 sent to nursing homes and long-term care facilities. The death rate skyrocketed, and the fake news media backpedaled to excuse the data. What we know now is that Cuomo caused the needless deaths of thousands of our valued elders. But the coverage of Cuomo’s handling of the pandemic was so over-the-top, he earned an Emmy instead of a jail cell.

“Thank you to all the members of the Academy. Your work has brought smiles and hope and relief for so many people during these difficult days,” Gov. Cuomo said of his Emmy Award. “I wish I could say that my daily COVID presentations are well-choreographed, scripted, rehearsed, or reflected any of the talents you advance. They didn’t. They offered only one thing: authentic truth and stability. But sometimes that’s enough.”

Recent reports indicate that nursing home data was suppressed and covered up by at least 50 percent. The latest figures indicate that nearly 13,000 New Yorkers needlessly died, and Cuomo forced officials to report only about 8,500.

The grotesque coverup is not a matter of speculation. Secretary to the governor Melissa DeRosa came forward and blew the whistle. She claimed the Democrat acted out of fear of federal investigation and political backlash from Republicans, most notably the former president. Cuomo has effectively admitted he forced people to withhold critical data from officials at the CDC and others to avoid a backlash.

By contrast, Gov. DeSantis appears to have pitched as perfect a game as possible against the virus. Florida’s death rates have remained below the national average despite the fact the state has among the most seniors. Schools are open, outdoor activities and beach vacations continue to buoy the state’s economy, and the vaccine rollout suffers few logistical hiccups, unlike some other states.

There’s a reason intelligent people no longer believe the establishment media. A year after they crafted a tale about two governors, the facts demonstrate the fake news media got it exactly backward. No truth exists in their fiction.

  1. Fox and NewsMax are being accused of disseminating misinformation. They were on the right side of news coverage of Cuomo and DeSantis. CNN and MSNBC were on the wrong side. Therefore , please, someone explain why Fox and NewsMax are being falsely targeted for the dissemination of false information!

  2. It will not be easy for America to recover its sovereignty and independence, and to restart the moribund First Republic or find something to replace it, but the speed with which Xiden’s puppet dictatorship is crashing and burning suggests that it is doable. It is logical and emotionally appealing for the legitimate winner of the 2020 election to come back and be Grover Cleveland to JoeBama’s Benjamin Harrison (and that is unfair to Harrison II, because Benjamin Harrison was a respected president, an able if cold politician and not demented or on the take in the least). An equally plausible alternative and one looking a little more to the future, where American patriots are still going to have to engage satanists, socialists and sodomites, would be the ticket of Ron DeSantis, now very much the Governor of the Hour as the monstuous and overrated Cuomo heads for disgrace at best and prison at worst, together with Elise Stefanik from Cuomo’s own bailiwick or Kristi Noem, the other wonder-working governor. Either way, it could be down with the dictatorship! Biden delendum est!

  3. Would want 2024 President Donald J Trump and Disanti as v.p: they would make a great team: bully and bronze are needed to bring our nation and her people back to make America great again and standing up for Israel: and turning the Orwellian actions of the democrat-socialist and communist party tactics under the democracy embrace take over our nation and her people to the slavery block of globalization groups taking away what you hold most dear the American dream of a United States a republic for which it stands one nation under GOD indivisible with liberty and justice for all: the true dreamers of America a republic must stand up for America : being the Americans : as for Cuomo when he attacked the churches, the synagogue, religious group meeting and the small business owners: he is reaping what he sowed: let his governorship be taken away from him and given to another.

    1. If New York voters were only smart enough to stop electing Democrats. I’m very happy living in Florida, and I hope that NY Democrats stay the hell in New York, we don’t need Florida looking like New York and other northern states.

  4. With 4 years of the Harris/Biden ChinaCom admin America is taking a dark turn towards Communism, and without a whimper from our “Republican” politicians…

    Bye bye USA.

  5. I would seriously hope that our governor Ron DeSantis does not leave Florida for a federal position. We need him as our hope for rational leadership in our great state. He and Jeb Bush are are examples of the heads-up leaders we Floridians is grateful for.
