At a Democratic National Committee meeting this week, newly minted DNC Chair Ken Martin made a startling admission. If Democrats want to win elections again, he said, they need to stop “playing by the rules.”
“Now, look, folks, I’m sick and tired of this Democrat Party bringing a pencil to a knife fight. We cannot be the only party that plays by the rules anymore,” Martin declared. He urged fellow Democrats: “We’ve got to stand up and fight. We’re not going to have a hand tied behind our back anymore. Let’s grow a damn spine and get in this fight, Democrats.”
Think about that. The man leading the Democratic Party just told America, in plain language, that the “rules” no longer apply to his side. And this isn’t some anonymous strategist whispering to Politico. This is the chairman himself.
What does it mean when a party that has already been caught bending and breaking the rules says they’re now done pretending to play by them? Consider the record.
Were Democrats “playing by the rules” in 2016, when Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton orchestrated the Russia collusion hoax to smear Trump as a foreign agent? Was it “above board” in 2020, when the COVID crisis from China conveniently rewrote U.S. election laws overnight and enabled mass mail-in voting — helping Joe Biden collect a record vote total without leaving his basement?
Was it “by the book” when Biden’s failing health became impossible to hide, yet staffers used the autopen to issue executive orders and even pardons in his name? Or in 2024, when lawfare campaigns across multiple states tried to keep Trump off the ballot entirely?
If all of that was Democrats supposedly following the rules, what happens now that their leader is calling for them to openly abandon them?
Martin’s words aren’t just bluster. They’re a roadmap. Democrats have already shown they’ll use intelligence agencies, public health scares, election law loopholes, and courts as weapons. Now, the mask is slipping. They are telling us that winning — at any cost — matters more than the rule of law, the Constitution, or the survival of the Republic itself.
The warning couldn’t be clearer: if Democrats are willing to burn down the rules, they’ll have no problem burning down America along with them.
