They’re not even pretending anymore.
A coalition of progressive groups announced Wednesday they’re escalating their campaign to impeach President Trump, citing his “illegal and unconstitutional military attack on Venezuela” — you know, the operation that captured a narco-terrorist dictator and had Venezuelans dancing in the streets.
The coalition includes Citizens’ Impeachment, the Removal Coalition, Free Speech for People, Women’s March, and the 50501 Movement. They’ve outlined “25 grounds for impeachment” and claim over one million people have signed their petition.
And Trump? He told House Republicans exactly what’s coming: “If they lose the House in the upcoming midterms, Democrats will find a reason to impeach me. I’ll get impeached.”
He’s not being paranoid. He’s reading their press releases.
140 House Members Already Voted Yes
Last month, 140 House Democrats backed Rep. Al Green’s articles of impeachment against Trump.
The resolution was ultimately tabled — 23 Democrats joined Republicans to block it — but the coalition is calling that vote a “77% increase in support for impeachment since the prior House vote in June.”
They’re tracking momentum. They’re building coalitions. They’re preparing for November.
If Democrats flip the House, impeachment isn’t a possibility. It’s a certainty.
“The Single Greatest Threat to Human Civilization”
The rhetoric from these groups has gone fully unhinged.
50501 spokesperson Hunter Dunn: “This is not hyperbole: Trump represents the single greatest threat to human civilization and the future of life on this planet that the United States has ever produced.”
Not hyperbole, he says. Trump is worse than nuclear proliferation. Worse than climate change. Worse than actual genocides. The single greatest threat to human civilization.
Dunn continued: “We are standing on the edge of World War III, and pretending otherwise is complicity.”
World War III. Because Trump captured Maduro and is negotiating for Greenland.
These are the people driving Democratic impeachment strategy.
“Honestly Confront the Historical Parallels to 1930s Germany”
Dunn went there. Of course he did.
He called for people to “honestly confront the historical parallels to the rise of fascism in 1930s Germany.”
Trump won a free and fair election. He’s governing according to campaign promises. He’s enforcing laws passed by Congress. His actions are being reviewed by courts.
That’s not 1930s Germany. That’s democracy functioning as designed.
But when you’ve decided your opponent is Hitler, any action against him becomes justified. That’s the point of the comparison — to pre-authorize whatever comes next.
25 Grounds for Impeachment
The coalition’s legal team has outlined 25 separate grounds for impeachment.
These include: the Venezuela operation, strikes on Iran “without congressional oversight,” “repeated bombings of boats and shipwrecked survivors in the Caribbean,” and “threats of military action in Greenland, Cuba, Colombia, and the entire western hemisphere.”
Threats. They want to impeach the President for making threats.
Also on the list: using ICE and the National Guard as “domestic paramilitary forces.” That’s their characterization of immigration enforcement.
They’ve also filed separate impeachment resolutions against Pete Hegseth for “tyranny” and “treason,” and against Pam Bondi for “obstruction of justice” over the Epstein files.
When you have 25 grounds for impeachment, you don’t have a legal case. You have a fishing expedition.
The January 20 “Free America Walkout”
The coalition is organizing a nationwide action on January 20 — the anniversary of Trump’s inauguration.
They’re calling it the “Free America Walkout” and urging constituents to flood congressional district offices demanding impeachment.
This is the ground game. Activists showing up at local offices, generating local news coverage, creating the impression of grassroots momentum.
Whether it’s genuine or astroturfed doesn’t matter. The goal is pressure — making Democratic congressmembers feel that voting against impeachment is politically dangerous.
Democratic Leadership Is Wavering
Here’s where it gets interesting.
In the December vote, Democratic leaders Hakeem Jeffries, Katherine Clark, and Pete Aguilar all voted “present” — not yes, not no.
That’s not opposition to impeachment. That’s keeping options open.
Rep. Jim Clyburn recently “signaled increased openness to impeachment,” according to the coalition. Senior Democrats are testing the waters.
If the political winds shift — if the “chaos” messaging works, if some operation goes wrong, if media pressure intensifies — leadership could flip from “present” to “yes” overnight.
Impeaching Everyone
It’s not just Trump they’re targeting.
Rep. Haley Stevens filed articles of impeachment against RFK Jr. for “turning his back on science.”
Rep. Shri Thanedar moved to impeach Pete Hegseth for “war crimes” related to Caribbean operations.
Rep. Delia Ramirez called for investigation of Kristi Noem for “unlawful conduct” and “misuse of federal funds.”
The strategy is clear: impeach everyone. Create a constant drumbeat of accusations. Make “impeachment” a normal part of political discourse rather than a constitutional last resort.
If Democrats take the House, expect articles of impeachment against half the Cabinet within the first month.
Trump Knows What’s Coming
At the House Republican retreat, Trump told lawmakers exactly what the stakes are.
“If we don’t win the midterms, it’s just gonna be… I mean, they’ll find a reason to impeach me. I’ll get impeached.”
He’s not speculating. He’s reading the coalition’s press releases. He’s watching the vote counts. He’s seeing the momentum.
The only thing standing between Trump and a third impeachment is Republican control of the House.
That’s why 2026 matters more than any midterm in recent memory.
“Impeachment Exists for Moments Like This”
Women’s March Executive Director Rachel O’Leary Carmona: “Impeachment exists for moments like this.”
Moments like what? A president enforcing immigration law? Capturing foreign dictators? Withdrawing from international organizations?
These aren’t constitutional crises. These are policy disagreements.
But for the coalition, policy disagreements are grounds for removal. Elections don’t settle anything. If Democrats lose, they just impeach the winner.
That’s not democracy. That’s a permanent resistance movement that refuses to accept any outcome except their own victory.
What November Decides
The math is simple.
Republicans hold the House: Trump serves out his term.
Democrats take the House: Impeachment proceedings begin immediately.
The coalition has the articles drafted. They have the votes counted. They have the activists organized. They’re just waiting for the electoral math to change.
Every Republican seat matters. Every turnout operation matters. Every voter who stays home makes impeachment more likely.
Trump told Republicans the truth at that retreat. Democrats will impeach him if they get the chance.
The only question is whether voters give them that chance.
