When Joe Biden’s handlers selected Kamala Harris as his running mate, the decision could not be supported by any conventional wisdom.
The California senator failed to lead the polls in a home state that was not even considered a battleground. Her mercurial rise in politics wreaked of scandals that included an unsavory sexual relationship with an aging Democrat who seated her on paying boards. Adding insult to the injury of Golden State victims, Harris scuttled investigations and prosecutions into molestations perpetrated by members of the Catholic Church.
Although some speculated that Biden would resign partway into his term due to early-onset dementia, there appears no sign of him tapping out. No thinking person believes the incoherent Democrat in the White House is running the country. But what many recognize is that Harris has been a complete and utter disaster as the country’s number two. She may even be a worse Veep than Biden when he was Obama’s flunky.
“The previous vice president — Biden — had an approval rating above 50 percent after six months. Before that Dick Cheney, and Al Gore, were in the 60s at the same stage. Even Dan Quayle, the much-mocked vice president of George H.W. Bush, had an approval rating of 43 percent, and disapproval of just 22 percent, with 34 percent undecided,” a recent report states. “Two recent polls both showed 46 percent of Americans approved of Harris, with 47 percent and 48 percent disapproving.”
Her repeated failures and missteps have become something of political legend. When tasked with getting the humanitarian crisis at the southern border under control, Harris went AWOL. She was spotted coming out of a fancy bakery weeks later, more than a thousand miles away from Mexico. Even fake news media outlets began to question Harris’ commitment to ending the practice of putting migrant children in cages and curbing the record-breaking illegal border crossings. Only after former President Donald Trump scheduled a trip to the border did Harris hurriedly fly to El Paso, a city not considered a hot spot. Her meaningless rhetoric about studying the “root causes” of illegal migration is comical at best. At worst, those speeches smell of incompetence.
Her employees voiced their displeasure over working with the angry and sometimes volatile Veep. Upwards of 22 current and former employees spoke candidly about her hostile work environment in a blockbuster article.
“It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s–t,” one “person with direct knowledge of how Harris’ office is run,” reportedly stated.
Some political operatives in the liberal media have tried — futilely — to buoy her public image as the general public grows increasingly unhappy.
“She’s holding up and is excited about all of the challenges ahead,” former DNC interim chair Donna Brazile reportedly said. “The fact that we have, in 245 years, the first-ever female vice-president, I’m not surprised that she is facing a higher level of scrutiny and different standards from previous vice-presidents.”
Yes, yes, another Democrat insider trolled out gender bias to mask the fact Harris has made a mockery of her office. But the good news is that Democrats appear stuck with Kamala Harris, who has emerged as the gold standard of liberal idiocy. She will bungle her way to Republican majorities in Congress and Democrats losing the White House in 2024.
