Foreign Censorship Chief Is Laughing At America

Golden Dayz

The State Department sanctioned Imran Ahmed this week for leading “organized efforts to coerce American platforms to censor, demonetize, and suppress American viewpoints.”

His organization, the Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), had one explicit goal in internal documents: “Kill Musk’s Twitter.”

Under Secretary Sarah Rogers delivered the message: “If you spend your career fomenting censorship of American speech, you’re unwelcome on American soil.”

Then a New York federal judge intervened.

On Christmas Day.

Judge Vernon Broderick Issued a Restraining Order Blocking Deportation

Judge Vernon S. Broderick of the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York issued a temporary restraining order.

The order bars Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem from detaining Ahmed.

Ahmed, a British citizen of Afghan heritage, holds a U.S. Green Card. He launched an emergency appeal claiming his deportation would be “unlawful” and “unconstitutional.”

His argument? Removing him would infringe on freedom of speech.

The irony is staggering.

The Censorship Czar Claims Deportation Violates Free Speech

Let that sink in.

A man who built his career trying to silence American voices is now claiming First Amendment protection.

His organization pressured platforms to deplatform conservatives. They targeted Breitbart News. They openly stated their mission was to destroy Twitter after Musk restored free speech.

Now he’s wrapping himself in the Constitution he spent years trying to undermine.

CCDH Was Founded With Ties to UK Prime Minister Starmer’s Office

Ahmed isn’t just any activist.

His Centre for Countering Digital Hate was founded with the involvement of Morgan McSweeney — now UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Chief of Staff.

This is a foreign censorship operation with direct ties to a foreign government, targeting American citizens and American platforms.

Ahmed was also a former Labour Party advisor before coming to America.

“Kill Musk’s Twitter” Was the Explicit Goal

Internal CCDH documents made their mission clear.

After Elon Musk bought Twitter and rolled back censorship policies, CCDH declared its goal: “Kill Musk’s Twitter.”

Not “counter misinformation.” Not “promote healthy dialogue.”

Kill the platform that restored free speech.

That’s what Ahmed’s organization exists to do. And he was doing it from American soil, on a Green Card.

His Lawyer Called the Sanctions “Blatantly Unconstitutional”

Ahmed’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan, celebrated the ruling:

“Judge Broderick granted our request for a temporary restraining order so quickly because it is so obvious that Marco Rubio and the other defendants’ actions were blatantly unconstitutional.”

She added: “Americans should be grateful for our clients’ courageous work to combat antisemitism, racism, as well as efforts to harm young children on social media.”

Courageous work. That’s what she calls pressuring platforms to silence political opponents.

Ahmed Claims He’s Fighting for “Children’s Safety” and Against “Antisemitism”

Ahmed’s statement after the ruling was pure spin:

“I will not be bullied away from my life’s work of fighting to keep children safe from social media’s harm and stopping antisemitism online.”

Children’s safety. Antisemitism.

Those are the cover stories. The actual work was targeting conservative media, pressuring advertisers to abandon right-leaning outlets, and trying to destroy platforms that allow free expression.

“Countering Digital Hate” is branding. Censorship is the product.

The State Department’s Response: Foreign Aliens Have No Right to Reside Here

The State Department pushed back through the New York Times:

“The Supreme Court and Congress have repeatedly made clear: The United States is under no obligation to allow foreign aliens to come to our country or reside here.”

Green Card holders have more protections than visa holders. But they’re not citizens.

The government has broad authority over immigration. Using that authority against a foreign national who wages censorship campaigns against Americans seems like a legitimate exercise of power.

Five Europeans Were Sanctioned — Ahmed Was the Only U.S. Resident

Ahmed wasn’t alone in facing consequences.

Five Euro-area citizens total were sanctioned with visa bans and deportation orders for their censorship activities.

But Ahmed was the only one residing in the United States. The others were simply banned from entering.

That’s why his case went to court. He had something to lose that the others didn’t.

His Wife and Child Are American — That’s His Legal Shield

Kaplan emphasized Ahmed’s family ties:

“The federal government can’t deport a green card holder like Imran Ahmed, with a wife and young child who are American, simply because it doesn’t like what he has to say.”

Having American family members provides legal leverage in deportation cases.

Ahmed used his time in America to build a censorship empire targeting Americans. Now he’s using his American family to avoid consequences.

“The Law Will Stand in the Way of Those Who Seek to Silence the Truth”

Ahmed’s statement included this gem:

“The law, clear-eyed in understanding right and wrong, will stand in the way of those who seek to silence the truth and empower the bold who stand up to power.”

“Silence the truth.” “Stand up to power.”

This from a man whose organization exists to silence voices and empower platforms to censor.

The projection is breathtaking.

A Hearing Is Scheduled for Monday

The temporary restraining order buys Ahmed time.

A hearing is scheduled for Monday, where the court will consider whether to extend the order.

The case will test whether the government can use immigration authority against foreign nationals who wage information warfare against American citizens.

“Unwelcome on American Soil”

That was the State Department’s message to censorship activists.

Ahmed heard it. He just doesn’t accept it.

He built a career trying to destroy free speech in America. Now he’s using American courts to stay in America and continue that work.

“Kill Musk’s Twitter.”

That was the mission. A New York judge just gave it a lifeline.

The hearing is Monday. The fight continues.
