Ironically enough, the kings of election interference themselves – the DOJ – have sentenced a viral conservative memester to seven months in prison, claiming that his memes “interfered” in the 2016 election.
Ahead of the 2016 election, Douglas Mackey, who ran an influential pro-MAGA Twitter account, posted a satirical meme telling Hillary Clinton voters to “vote from home” by texting “Hillary” to a fake number.
Anybody with a brain could clearly tell that it was a joke, especially given that at the time the overwhelming majority of voting was done in person, but the Biden DOJ didn’t seem to care – they wanted to make Mackey pay for this “crime.”
The conservative influencer was arrested in 2021 shortly after Joe Biden took office and completely weaponized the DOJ against MAGA Republicans.
In the criminal complaint against him, the DOJ claims that “at least 4,900 unique telephone numbers” messaged the number Mackey provided, proving that some Democrat voters are actually dumb enough to think they really could vote this way.
However, the complaint fails to mention how many – if any – of those individuals refrained from casting a real vote because they thought they had already done so.
After years of the DOJ toying with Mackey, and leaving his uncertain fate up in the air, they have finally decided that they’re ready to make him pay.
Obama-appointed federal court Judge Ann Donnelly sentenced Mackey to seven months in prison claiming that he had carried out a “conspiracy against rights,” which in this case, means he interfered in the election.
The decision to arrive at that conclusion is a stretch, at best.
The law surrounding this states that it’s a crime to “injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person … in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right.” It DOES NOT say anything about providing false information – especially in an obvious satirical fashion.
At worst, however, the decision signals a major shift in America which indicates that our DOJ is no longer quietly rigging elections behind the curtain – they’re taking out conservative influencers and politicians and using the full force of the federal government to do so.
In an America that is SUPPOSED to have freedom of speech, Mackey was thrown in prison for posting a JOKE that made the left look bad – that’s the reality of the situation.
Even if the DOJ was legitimately concerned that Mackey had interfered in the election as they’re claiming, their refusal to hold any Democrats, mainstream media, or big tech accountable for the actions they’ve taken to ACTUALLY interfere in the election prove how one-sided things are.
Don’t expect the DOJ to crack down on anyone who peddled the Russia collusion false narrative anytime soon, never mind the fact that it was all based on lies, paid for by Hillary Clinton herself!
Then again in 2020 when dozens of intelligence officials claimed that the Hunter Biden laptop was “Russian disinformation” to trick the American people into believing it was all fake, orchestrated by the Biden campaign itself – but don’t hold your breath for them to be brought to “justice” either.
As you can see, there’s a pretty obvious trend here.
And let’s not forget, of course, that the FBI themselves have been guilty of spreading lies and disinformation about Donald Trump – slandering his name to the entire country in a move which undoubtedly interfered in the election more than Mackey’s simple little meme ever could have.
We are NO LONGER the NATION THAT IS: “FOR THE PEOPLE, OF THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE!”
