Why do so many people on the right fall for it every time the Democrat Party runs a hit job on somebody on our side?
On Friday, two scandals about prominent Republican ladies made major headlines. Democrats always maintain radio silence when someone on their side gets in trouble, no matter how appalling their behavior is. But on the right, many on our side just pile on so they can feel righteous. They immediately jump on social media and try to throw our own side under the bus, instead of taking a breath and waiting for some facts to come in.
You’ve probably already heard about the two scandals, which involve Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO). Gov. Noem was falsely accused of carrying on a years-long affair with Trump advisor Cory Lewandowski. Rep. Boebert was caught on camera letting her date get to second base in a darkened theater. Both of these “scandals” prompted many on the political right to jump on Twitter and demand that Boebert and Noem resign immediately for the good of the party.
If this is your first rodeo, allow us to illuminate what’s really happening here.
The Kristi Noem story is FAKE. When it first broke on Friday, I sent my editor a note, and thought, “Well, this looks kinda bad.” What I did not do is jump on Twitter or Facebook and demand the immediate resignation of Kristi Noem.
If you pause long enough to read through the hit piece about her in the Daily Mail, there is not one shred of evidence that an affair actually happened. Not a single one of the “sources” who was quoted in the article was willing to put their name on it. They were all anonymous cowards. Given the track record of the media when it comes to truthfulness about Republican politicians, what do you think is more likely? Was Kristi Noem having an affair, or was this a political hit job on Governor Noem?
As for the Lauren Boebert video, well… okay, that one looks bad. But is normal heterosexual friskiness between consenting adults in a movie theater really all that scandalous?
Maybe my perspective on this is a little different, since I’m Generation X. When we were growing up, movies didn’t suck like they do now. We went to the movies a lot. And many of us did stuff in the back row that was waaaay worse than Lauren Boebert’s date getting handsy.
Here’s why I think the Lauren Boebert story is also a set-up.
It seems awfully convenient that the theater JUST SO HAPPENED to have a NIGHT VISION CAMERA pointed directly at Lauren Boebert and her date. Does every theater have a night vision camera in it these days? If so, why haven’t we ever heard of this before?
Plus, Boebert’s date is a far-left Democrat who owns a tranny bar in Colorado. Maybe I’m just wearing too much tinfoil these days, but he seems to be leaning back so that the night vision camera can get a good view as he’s fondling Boebert. I think he knew the camera was there, and this whole thing was a setup.
Am I going to demand that Lauren Boebert resign because of that video? No. Would I vote for some Communist against her out of an inflated sense of self-righteousness? Of course not. I’d tell her to use better judgment and always assume that there’s a target on her back when she’s out in public.
Yet many Republicans on social media are piling on with the Democrats right now and screeching that Noem and Boebert both have to resign, otherwise they’ll cost us votes next year or something. No, they won’t. Stop being silly.
If you noticed last week, however, the Democrats didn’t say a word about a sex scandal on their side of the aisle. Susanna Gibson is a Democrat running for State Senate in Virginia. The story broke last week that she’s some kind of internet porn starlet with her husband. They made gross and graphic videos of their love life and got paid for it.
Not a single Democrat has called on Susanna Gibson to drop out of the race. Instead, the media is writing articles painting her as a victim who is being slut-shamed by Puritanical MAGA bigots. This woman pointed a camera at her naked lady-parts, peed in a cup, and sold copies of the video to perverts on the internet for $10 a pop. Not one Democrat has criticized her for this. So, pardon me if I don’t get all fussy and worked up over Lauren Boebert getting groped while she’s on a date.
Also, what’s the standard on potty tapes these days? I thought those were treason a few years ago, but now they’re a good thing? I wish the Democrats could clarify that for us.
