President Trump has pulled another trigger that he said he was going to pull. Law and order are now in effect in Washington, DC, again. National Guard troops are being called up to assist the DC Metro Police Department. The nation’s capital, ironically, has some of the worst violence and property crime rates in the nation. The murder rate in the city, thanks to Soros prosecutors, is more than four times as high as the national average. Amazingly, the president now has Democrats praising Washington, DC, for being a crime-ridden hellhole.
As we’ve been noting for many years, the Democrats’ entire political philosophy has turned into a game of “Opposite Day” in a kindergarten classroom. If Trump supports something, they reflexively oppose it. If Trump opposes something, they extol its virtues.
Trump announced at a press conference Monday morning, “This is liberation day in D.C., and we’re going to take our Capitol back.”
The president pointed out the obvious, which he’s famous for doing. Washington, DC’s crime rate is far worse than the rates in many comparable cities around the world that sane people would never visit. Shouldn’t our nation’s capital be a better place to live and visit than, say, Bogota or Cape Town?
The Democrats responded in lockstep, led by failed two-time loser and non-president Hillary Clinton (LOL!). They’re all claiming that crime in DC has been declining SINCE 2023! Wow. Two whole years? You’re on quite a roll there, Mayor Bowser!
Another fictitious claim they’re tossing around is that DC now has historic, 30-year low crime rates.
The truth is that DC’s homicide rate is 27.5 murders per 100,000 people. The national average is 5.9 murders per 100,000. Even if Trump cuts the murder rate in half (which he will), DC will still have more than twice as many murders as the national average. It’s also a lie that “crime has dropped” in the city.
This is the same game that Soros prosecutors are pulling in every city in America. The cops arrest a violent criminal. The Soros prosecutor downgrades the crimes (especially gun crimes) to misdemeanors and lets the criminal out of jail. Then, they turn to the public and say, “Look at me! I lowered the crime rate!” Meanwhile, the criminal is back on the streets and attacking random people again.
Washington, DC, has more murders than all 50 states and more carjackings than all 50 states. Yet this is the acceptable low bar that Democrats are defending. The Democrats find themselves, once again, on the losing side of an 80-20 issue. Or 70-30.
That’s what the vote was in progressive California last fall, when choosing enforcement of crimes was on the ballot. 70% supported the return of law and order across the state. (Governor Gavin Newsom, naturally, has refused to fund the measure.)
This is a golden opportunity for the media, by the way. Here’s their chance to expose Trump’s LIES! For any reporter who wants to try, simply equip yourself with a GoPro camera and a brand-new pair of expensive Nike basketball shoes. Then, walk around in DC at 2:00 in the morning and show the world how much of a liar Trump is! You can livestream the whole thing.
Let’s see how long it takes for a half-naked crazy hobo to hit you with a brick and then shove that GoPro up your wazoo.
Trump’s point is a very simple one. Why can’t we have safe cities anymore, like we used to before the government turned on the mass immigration spigot? Why does everything have to be so cruddy and gross? Why can’t we strive to have ZERO murders in our cities? We won’t achieve that, because there’s always going to be some level of crime, but isn’t it worth trying?
We’re the United States of America, and our citizens deserve better.
One thing is abundantly clear from Trump’s second term in office. Democrats are not fit to be in charge of anything, ever again. We have no common cause with these people. They support crime, ghoulish trans surgeries on kids, and forced vaccination of the population. They can’t be reasoned with and their intentions are not honorable. They’d rather force Americans to continue living amid crime, chaos, and filth than fix anything.
