Man Arrested After Threatening to Kill Sen. Rand Paul

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has faced several threats since President Donald Trump took office. In November of last year, Senator Paul was physically attacked by neighbor Rene Boucher over a supposed property dispute. Boucher, a Kentucky doctor, tackled the lawmaker in his yard. Senator Paul suffered broken ribs and later contracted pneumonia as a result of the assault.

Boucher was charged with felony assault on a member of Congress. He was sentenced to 30 days in prison and a $10,000 fine. Boucher has apologized to Rand, and said in court that he hopes that the two of them can go back to being neighbors. Although the threat from Boucher may be over, Senator Paul now faces a new threat.

The senator announced on Twitter that a man had been arrested for threatening to kill the both him and his family with an ax. He tweeted his thanks to the United States Capitol Police for arresting the man who issued the threat.

The Capitol Police declined to provide any further information to Fox News Reporters, saying they do not comment on open investigations. However, Paul has been open about the threats to him and his family. He told supporters at an event in Leitchfield, Kentucky that the man had called him at his office in Bowling Green and threatened to kill the Senator and chop up his family. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name or the motivation behind the threats.

The threats against the Kentucky senator are just the latest in many that have been made against government appointees and lawmakers recently. Although Boucher maintains that his attack against the senator was not politically motivated, Paul says that it was motivated by differing political opinions. Boucher is a registered Democrat, according to Kentucky voting records.

Paul has been involved in three separate violent incidents in the past year. He was the victim of a life-threatening attack and was shot at — all in the same year. He was also present when a gunman opened fire last summer at a Congressional baseball practice. James Hodgkinson shot House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and several congressional staffers in the incident. Scalise has since undergone nine surgeries after the attack. He was able to return to the baseball game again this year despite his previous injuries.

Paul says that it is horrendous that he and his family have to deal with these kinds of threats. To make matters worse, the senator’s family is being threatened as well. Rand says that he and his family are still recovering from the earlier incident that happened in their front yard when he was attacked by Boucher. Rand reported that the entire family feels nervous just standing in their yard now.

The threats against Rand are just the latest in a string of threats against lawmakers. In another incident involving a different lawmaker, a 33-year-old man from California, was recently charged with sending threatening emails to the Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai. Makara Man sent emails to the chairman threatening to kill the chairman’s family. The emails contained a photo of Pai and his family as well as a listing that had three of the locations where the Pai is alleged to live in Arlington, Virginia. Man was angry because the FCC voted to get rid of net neutrality rules passed under the Obama administration.

    1. omg maxine waters started all of this violence why has she not been arrested???

TO SOLVE AMERICAS PROBLEMS MAKE THIS CHOICE WE THE PEOPLE’ HAVE THE POWER OF OUR VOICES AND OUR VOTES, TO VOTE OUT THE ENTIRE LYING,CORRUPT, TREASONOUS DEMOCRAT PARTY COME NOV 2018, VOTE TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN AND TO END ALL CORRUPTIONS IN WASHINGTON GOVERNMENT

  1. We have certainly lost our way in America, but the worst part is the legal system continues to placate these insane people with slap on the wrist penalties and weak-kneed justice. If someone threatens you and/or your family, they should be put away for good. The left/democrats/progressive realize that Americans don’t want socialism or politicians who encourage “resistance.” That’s how banana dictatorships work. You don’t like someone, kill him and take his belongings. Look at South Africa. The government has declared all white land owners are to be driven off their land, so the government can redistribute to their, the government’s friends, Barbaric!
Perhaps Maxine Waters and the Antifa group should relocate there, it’s right up their racist alley.

  2. These people who threaten violence and do bodily harm including the loss of life do not respect the freedom of speech. They do not value the gift of life and the family unit. Maxine Waters has also encourage harassment of Government Officials. She and others who support her views must be voted out of power. I am a strong conservative, but I respect and honor the American’s people choice of who they put into power. We may not agree with all of our Representatives views, but we must never forget that they are human beings with families who they love. Anybody who threatens a government official and his family must be punish and stay behind bars for many years. I suggest that our Representatives and their families have protective police custody around the clock. The families must also have their privacy but have police enforcement near the homes. Remember, The Lord our God’s commandment, “Thou Shalt Not Kill and to Love our Neighbor as our Selves.”

  3. I am curious. How many Democrats have been threatened with violence to themselves or to their families? II don’t mean the silly, hateful online comments one sees, but comments from the floor of Congress calling for pubic confrontation of President Obama, his staff and their families in public places. Had I done that I would have been arrested. I didn’t because my parents, both Democrats, raised me to be better than that.

The one good thing about nearing 80 is that I likely will likely not live to see this move from hateful words in Congress to bricks & clubs in the public places.; however, I despair as I consider the quality of life my grandchildren will face, when someone the likes of “The Honorable” Maxine Waters is permitted to behave so dishonorably.

    1. My thoughts exactly, Dub. My parents were both Democrats. The party stood for different values then. (I’m 70) I am now registered Republican. I did not leave the party, the party left me. Just cannot see much value in the direction the Dem’s have taken in the past 20 years or so. Have a nice day and a long life.

      1. Remember, Ronald Reagan said the democrat party left him as well; and that was over 30 years ago. It would be nice if more people could see that but the re education camps(public education system) have been hard at work propagandizing our youth(now in their 40s and 50s +) ala saul alinksy and moving forward in their zeal to turn this country into a marxist “utopia”. All so they can have power and wealth, something they could never attain in a free market competitive system. Sad indeed.

  4. Just imagine what these leftist would do if KFC went from 11 herbs and spices to 9. Wow the 5hit would really hit the fan!

    1. The left is inspiring many voters to leave their ranks. This is not a nation that takes well to those who demand with violence that it be their way or an ambush from the dark at the back of whomever is their target. Or with a crowd against one or a few who are unarmed. That seems to be the MO for dem wits and their minions these days. And sooner or later they will try these ploys with those who can and will respond.

And these actions are indeed not the action of a lawful society or civil in any sense. Just thugs behaving like thugs, now where have we seen this before? Chicago for certain and CA as well. These are dem wit enclaves and now their lawless attitude is spreading by intent with their elected dem wits like Big Mouth, etc..

This is what Big Mouth has advocated for and thus far the dullards in the dem wit ranks have been responding. I think Big Mouth needs a reminder that her wishes have a way of coming back on one. And as noted the dem wits are not experiencing any of this. But that too can turn. Big Mouth should be careful about what she wishes for out loud!

And to the party that advocates for these attacks we should all remember and the party members as well that this violence began with the dem wits and particularly Big Mouth Waters. The party of hate, division, and violence. Boy how the DNC has fallen!

  5. communists have no concience ‘ only ideology. thats why fascists communists nazis and muslimes share a common enemy. Your childrens liberty.

  6. Prayers for Senator Paul and his family. Our country has lost its way and we need to stop the violence. Conservatives did not agree with President Obama and his progressive agenda, but we did respect his right to be the elected leader of the United States. We also believe in the constitution and the election process, and that is how we used our voices.

  7. The president was responding to the savage attacks on his supporters as they waited to see him. They were hit, spat upon, roughed up, and verbally abused by hired goons–and it was revealed that the democratic party (courtesy of Killary) was hiring some of those.
