The world seems to be on pins and needles now that Michelle and Barack Obama are suddenly spending a lot less time together. Michelle refused to attend Jimmy Carter’s state funeral with Barack a few days ago. The Obamas have now issued a press release stating that Barack will be at Donald Trump’s inauguration—but Michelle will be skipping it.

The rumors of trouble in paradise first started when Jack Posobiec said something after Michelle skipped Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Citing unnamed sources, Posobiec noted, “Hearing serious talk that the reason Michelle isn’t at the funeral isn’t that she wasn’t invited, but that she and Barack are on the outs.”
This week, the Obamas announced that Michelle was skipping the inauguration. That was quickly followed by an article in the Daily Mail tabloid that the Obamas are having “troubles” and could be headed for divorce. Speculation on Twitter/X has been running rampant ever since.
If we had to guess after being forced to observe the Obamas for the past 17 years, we’d say that the Obamas are going through a rough patch, but they’re not headed for divorce.
Assuming that Michelle is upset with Barack, we’d guess that it’s because of the outcome of the 2024 election, rather than the fact that he’s always sneaking off into the trees with some random naked man.
Remember, Michelle Obama was the entire Democrat Party’s last great hope to defeat Donald Trump when they decided to send Joe Biden to the glue factory.
Biden upset the plans of the Obamas and Eric Holder when he selected Kamala Harris as his replacement in the 2024 election. Harris was the last choice of every Democrat voter who was polled on replacing Biden. Pete Buttigieg would have had a better shot at the White House than Kamala Harris.
When Biden chose Harris, it completely deflated the plans of the Obamas. Imagine if Michelle and Barack had been talking for weeks about stealing the 2024 election for Michelle, and then it all falls apart because of Joe Biden’s pettiness.
Michelle could be plenty mad at Barack if that is how it played out. Maybe she expected Barack to fight harder to steal the presidency for her. Michelle isn’t getting any younger, after all. Imagine her odds of winning an election four years from now, the way that her looks are rapidly deteriorating.
As for the pending divorce rumors, the Obamas have had a very good thing going for years with their little sham marriage. Why stop now?
They’ve got a Netflix contract that pays them gazillions of dollars to make up racist movie ideas. They’ve got palatial mansions in Hawaii, Martha’s Vineyard, and other cities. They went from being dirt-poor “community organizers” in Chicago into fabulously wealthy people during the eight years they spent in the White House.
As a political power couple, it’s not as if their lives have ever been about their marriage or whoever those two kids are who don’t look like either of them. It’s always been about the power for Barack and the money for Michelle.
Michelle has always known that Barack is a gay man. Many Americans were shocked when Tucker Carlson broke the news in 2024 that Barack prefers men. Carlson had Larry Sinclair on his show to tell his story about his bedroom escapades and crack-smoking adventures with Barack Obama when he was a local Chicago politician.
Sinclair signed an affidavit and took a lie detector test. He was sincere in his claims that he had engaged in a drug-fueled sexual relationship with Barack Obama. Michelle has always known her husband’s weird preferences and she has stuck with him anyway.
The divorce rumors about the Obamas originally started swirling when Carlson aired his interview with Sinclair. Michelle was out of the country at the time, taking one of her solo trips to Spain, when many Americans heard for the first time that Barack had lied about sexuality.
Even if things are frosty between the Obamas right now, it seems unlikely that they’re headed for a divorce. It’s not as if they’ve been sleeping in the same bed all these years and things are suddenly falling apart. This is just par for the course for them.
