As governors across the United States take measures to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus, some liberal politicians and their acolytes are using the occasion to freely trample on citizen rights.
A crystal-clear display of presented itself in North Carolina, where police told a group of peaceful protestors that their rights were “non-essential.” The police came out in full force to meet a small crowd of about one hundred people who were, for the most part, social distancing. While some protestors milled about, others remained in their cars. Even so, it didn’t matter — the cops threatened to arrest anyone participating for “violating the governor’s orders.”
When questioned regarding which order was being violated, the Raleigh Police Department responded that “protesting is a non-essential activity”.
It’s hard to overstate just how dangerous such a mentality is. Democratic North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, like many of his counterparts around the nation, has forcibly shut down small businesses in the name of combatting the COVID-19 pandemic. While he deems these businesses “non-essential,” the fact is that many people in his state depend on them to earn a living. To them, the ability to peacefully ask the governor to restore their livelihood is not “non-essential” — it’s a matter of coming through this crisis.
While the protest was small, the Reopen NC Facebook page has more than 30,000 members, indicating that many more people throughout the state support the cause.
North Carolina doesn’t have very many COVID-19 cases or fatalities compared to other states like New York, California, and Florida. The small group of protestors on the street begging the NC governor to allow them to earn a living weren’t endangering the masses or risking the collapse of the state’s hospital system. If a state governor can use such a flimsy excuse to allow the police to arrest protestors for the mere act of protesting, then the nation is on a slippery slope to tyranny.
The coronavirus pandemic has brought out the worse in those who want to seize power. The right to protest the government is a fundamental constitutional right. It’s the very principle that built the America in the first place centuries ago.
The Raleigh Police Department’s move to arrest those who dared to ask the governor to consider the needs of the people he governs should be condemned by anyone who values the classical concept of freedom.
Loss of freedom and a police state is what you can expect when democrats are elected into positions of authority. Americans need to wake up and look closely what democrats are doing. They have done nothing positive and have divided our country like never before. The entire DNC is in fact nothing more than a domestic terrorist organization determined to undermine our government and take freedom away from the people.

I am from North Carolina and sincerely believe Roy Cooper’s 2nd administration was also voted in via voter fraud. He and his wife are thoroughly wicked. North Carolina has a very large number of conservative Democrats in terms of their actual beliefs. But many of them work in various levels of governmental bureaucracies and automatically vote Democrat as if it was their god and provider. In addition to that we have many centers of higher education brainwashing kids even further than what they received via the Democrat run education system. By the time most young people get out of college they have been thoroughly distanced from parental teaching even in the rare instances when their parents did a good job.
The Republican alternative to our devilish Governor was our excellent Lt. Governor Dan Forest; an excellent man. Governor Roy Cooper couldn’t wait to get mail in voting on the excuse of Covid-19. He also extended the time those ballots could be counted until 12 days after the election; the most in the nation.

I agree with the statement of the institutions of higher learning-colleges and universities- are doing a fine job of changing the beliefs of our young people. The tenured professors have for a long time expounded the ideas of the communism and free stuff dialogue. It is time to stop this drivel and end tenure as a safety measure of keeping these professors employed. When Cooper was attorney general (before becoming governor) he refused to uphold the Marriage Amendment to the NC Constitution that the citizens of NC had voted for. He should have been fired then for not upholding the law. So, it’s no surprise that the doesn’t seem to follow the law. Hope NC voters will remove him soon.

Has North Carolina become Virginia, where the Constitution has no meaning? The Constitution makes protesting an “essential activity”, just as the Constitution itself is essential. The police actions were directly in violation of the Constitution, and so is the Governor, if the police were correctly interpreting the Governor’s order.
Most disturbing aspect is that the Governors are behaving as if they will not have to face a re-election – they are operatinge like Dictators for life. Is there some expectation of Civil war to carry them forward after doing so many things that make then unelectable?
They are not worried about re-election. Take a few more ballots out of the box under the table after closing down the ballot counting for the day. It doesn’t matter if their opponent is way ahead when they stop the counting,, as long as they are way ahead when the counting starts again the next morning. There is no way they can justify what happened during the Presidential election, and looks like they wont have to.
