Profiles in Courage: Mitch McConnell Sobbed Like a Little Sissy-Girl on January 6th

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) likes to strut around in Washington, DC as if he’s a real tough guy. Remember when he said he wanted to punch all of us Tea Party members in the nose?

He also seems to get a homoerotic thrill when he hangs out with Ukrainian dictator Vladimir Zelensky. McConnell loves sending your tax dollars and bombs to kill young men.

But is he really a courageous person? Not according to a new biography of McConnell that will be released later this month.

Many of us have been thinking about courage a lot since this past July 13th. Donald Trump was shot in front of millions of viewers in Butler, PA. The women on his protective detail were moaning with fear and screaming, “Where are we going? Where are we going?” after the bullets stopped flying.

Trump stood up with blood streaming down his face. There was no way to know if there were other shooters or if the threat had been truly neutralized at that point. Instead of running away or ducking in fear, he defiantly pumped his fist in the air and yelled, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

That was real bravery. It’s impossible to fake that kind of chutzpah when you’re in the moment like that and bullets are flying. Donald Trump exhibited the kind of courage that every person hopes they would have in a situation like that.

The reality, however, is that many people are not built the same way as him. This sort of thing matters because you want leaders in office who are brave and now secretly cowards.

Mitch McConnell is one of those who lacks personal courage. According to the new biography written by Michael Tackett of the Associated Press, Mitch McConnell sobbed like a little sissy-girl during the mostly peaceful January 6 protests.

Behind closed doors, Mitch McConnell was celebrating when the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump. Even though every single person on the planet realized the election had been stolen (people protested the fake election results in Japan and held Stop the Steal rallies in support of Trump), Mitch McConnell said the result “underscores the good judgment of the American people.”

After the election was stolen, McConnell told his friends, “For a narcissist like him, that’s been really hard to take, and so his behavior since the election has been even worse, by far, than it was before, because he has no filter now at all.”

McConnell did everything he could as then-Senate Majority Leader to block Republicans from challenging the stolen election. When the January 6 peaceful protest happened, the book describes McConnell as having a total coward’s psychological meltdown.

After McConnell ran away to a secure location that day, he was frantically calling The Betrayer (Mike Pence) and the military and demanding that they send in troops to quell the Trump supporters. You know, the Trump supporters who gingerly walked between the velvet ropes?

“This failed attempt to obstruct the Congress, this failed insurrection, only underscores how crucial the task before us is for our republic,” McConnell said in a floor speech after the peaceful protest had ended.

McConnell then went into his office and started sobbing like a little sissy-girl. He told his staff, “You are my family, and I hate the fact that you had to go through this.”

Had to do through what, exactly?

None of the peaceful protesters had firearms that day. Nobody got shot except for Ashli Babbitt, who was murdered by a cop with a history of reckless use of firearms.

Mitch McConnell is one of the handful of Members of Congress who has Secret Service protection. He was never in any danger on January 6th.

The protest was a nothing-burger in terms of representing any danger to anyone (except for Trump supporters). Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) walked down to the doors of the Capitol and talked to the Trump supporters as they were supposedly “rioting.”

Mitch McConnell was psychologically broken by little grannies with knitting needles voicing an opinion to him.

McConnell will be stepping down as Republican leader in the Senate this December, but he’ll still stay in office until his term ends after 2026. What a repellant little man. This is the exact type of person you don’t want to represent you in Congress. Cowards are the worst leaders imaginable because they will always sell out their constituents to save their own skin. People like Mitch McConnell will have to be drummed out of office if we ever hope to fix the problems in our nation. Trump can’t do it all by himself.
