New Census data showing populations in red states are growing at the expense of blue states has given the GOP a unique advantage going into upcoming election cycles.
Blue states are losing seats as even liberal voters grow disgusted with the way these states are managed. Conservative states, on the other hand, are gaining seats. Redistricting is set to begin for the 2022 elections, with pundits predicting that this process alone could give the GOP an additional eight seats in the House of Representatives.
The GOP-gained advantage isn’t just a passing benefit; it’s set to remain in place until 2030.
California lost a seat for the first time in the state’s history. New York likewise lost a seat, albeit by a small margin that had led Governor Andrew Cuomo to question the way the census was managed by the Trump Administration. Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are the other liberal states to lose a seat each. Florida, North Carolina, and Montana, each gained a seat. Texas gained two seats.
How these seats are apportioned remains to be seen. However, it is Republican-controlled legislatures throughout the United States that have the power to adjust districts to position the GOP to win upcoming Congressional elections. In states that gained seats, the GOP is likely to ensure that a Republican will be elected for the new spot.
In states that lost seats, the party controlling the state legislature would have the power to eliminate a seat that belongs to a rival. For instance, Pennsylvania’s loss of a seat could result in one fewer Democrat representative as the state’s legislature is controlled by the GOP. In New York, on the other hand, pundits are already predicting that the loss of a seat would cost a Republican one spot in the House.
Some analysts have noted that the Democratic Party has more control over the redistricting process than it did in 2010. Others have pointed out that the damage to the party’s chances of keeping control of the House in 2022 could be worse.
No one should really be surprised by any of this. California and New York have been experiencing an exodus of voters and businesses alike for years at this point. But in just the past year, Americans have witnessed how truly dystopian Democrat governors and mayors can be. Businesses have been destroyed. Rioters have been allowed to run roughshod over communities. On top of all that, Democrat governments at all levels continue to push discredited lockdown policies.
If Republicans do indeed win back the House and continue to hold strong in 2024, we might just have to thank Andrew Cuomo, Gavin Newsom, and Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Yes, liberal states are losing voters by the ton, but where are those morons going? They’re going to red states and often picking up where they left off, voting for the same s**t that ruined the states they fled. Look at CO, AZ, NV, OR, WA- they were all former red states, ruined by Mexifornia scum voters. The N.E. of the nation is ruining NC and GA, we’ve been able to fend them off in FL, thank God.
