When it comes to dealing with violent rioters, the entire nation could take a page from Florida’s playbook.
As Democrat-run cities spiral into chaos—thanks in no small part to funding from Democrat aligned organizations—Florida is laying down the law. Hard.
While blue states like California coddle these street thugs (and in some cases seem to be encouraging them), red-state leaders are showing Americans what real leadership looks like.
Earlier this week, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) made headlines with his blunt message to Floridians: if a mob tries to trap your vehicle in the street, you have the right to defend yourself from the mob.
“We have a policy that if you’re driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety,” DeSantis said.
“And if you hit one of them while fleeing—it’s their fault.”

That wasn’t just political bluster—it was a warning to the rioters: Florida fights back.
And it’s not just Governor DeSantis talking tough.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey delivered one of the most savage responses yet. His message to violent agitators trying to imitate Portland-style chaos in Florida?
“Throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies—we’ll notify your family where to collect your remains,” he said.
“Because we will kill you. Graveyard dead.”

He didn’t stop there. Ivey also warned that anyone dumb enough to block roads like they do in LA or New York can expect to be “run over and dragged across the street.”
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier echoed those sentiments, calling Florida the “anti-riot state” and promising to back law enforcement all the way.
“Unlike California, we support law enforcement,” Uthmeier said. “Border Patrol and ICE agents enforcing immigration law deserve protection from leftists trying to harm them. If the left doxes these agents, we will have their backs.”
This is what real leadership looks like.
While the radical left embraces riots as a tool to sow chaos and undermine President Trump’s deportation mandate he received from voters, red states like Florida are showing exactly how to stop it.
Florida officials know tough talk works too. As of this writing, no rioters or protesters have shut down streets, looted stores, set cars on fire or destroyed public property in Florida.
