Texas Gov. Abbott Offers to Hire Border Patrol Agents if Biden Fires Them

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott said on Sunday that if President Joe Biden fires the Border Patrol officers who rode horses in protecting the border at Del Rio that he will hire them to defend the border.

“What the President said going after the Border Patrol, who were risking their lives and working so hard to try to secure the border, if he takes any action against them whatsoever, I have worked side by side with those Border Patrol agents,” Abbott said on Fox News Sunday.

“I want them to know something, if they are at risk of losing their job, got a president who is abandoning his duty to secure the border, you have a job in the state of Texas. I will hire you to help Texas secure our border.”

Earlier in the interview, Abbott said, “As soon as the National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety showed up literally with hundreds if not thousands of vehicles, that is when the illegal migration stopped. That’s exactly what the Biden administration could do if they wanted to.”

Abbott added that Texas is not being required to step in and do the work of the federal government in protecting the border. “But Chris, it’s the kind of thing that Texas is going to have to continue to do in addition to the other policies that you did not announce and that is, as opposed to catch and release, Texas has imposed a policy where we are going to arrest and jail people who come in across the border for trespassing into areas into the state of Texas.”

Maybe this guy should be put in charge of the border instead?

At least Abbott knows what is at stake. His state shares 800 miles of border with Mexico. Texans see firsthand every day what happens when there is no enforcement. Instead of deterring illegal immigration, Biden’s border policies have led to more than 1.2 million illegal immigrants in 2021 so far.

In Del Rio, up to 15,000 were under one bridge. In that case, the immigrants weren’t from Mexico, but mostly from Haiti. Reports now show the Haitian migrants came from numerous locations, with some traveling as far as Chile where thousands were given refugee status after the 2010 earthquake.

In less than one year as president, Biden turned our nation into a mega-refugee camp. Third world America is no longer a prediction; it’s a reality.

Why does this matter for you? First, your tax dollars are paying for every person coming across the border illegally.

Second, your safety is decreasing by the day as thousands of people enter the nation without proper vetting. No one knows which people are in a gang, have a history of crime or may want to commit an act of terror.

Third, it’s changing our nation’s values. As a growing percentage of our nation consists of people who have no problem illegally entering the nation and bring their own set of values, the lower the percentage of Americans who cherish the freedoms that make people want to move here. That’s can’t be good, especially when our nation is led by someone who seems hell bent on destroying America.
