Trump is Arming Police Again, and the Left Hates It

President Donald J. Trump thumbs his nose at all things liberal, and his recent moves have leftists once again losing their minds.

In his latest one-eighty on Obama-era policies, Trump struck down the previous administration’s ban on police departments purchasing military surplus. While conservatives widely agree these are smart efforts to support law and order, the left at least pretends to be outraged.

Lawlessness Ends Now

It is widely understood the Obama years were marked by lawlessness, pandering to liberal causes and placing the rights of non-citizens over Americans. The Loretta Lynch Justice Department went as far as to ensure local police throughout the country were ill-equipped to monitor militant political demonstrations.

During this time, left-leaning media cranked up their propaganda machines. They began citing “sources” that Pres. Trump did not consult with the Justice Department before issuing the pardon for Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

While that implies some fault in process, pardons are made at the sole discretion of the president. The usual claims surfaced that civil right organizations such as the ACLU are outraged. That’s about as earth shattering as saying, “Hey, it’s Tuesday.”

Americans are still waiting for the moral indignation of Obama pardoning more than 100 drug traffickers during his tenure. Crickets. The Trump Administration apparently has a message for criminal aliens and the Liberal judges who foster lawlessness…It all ends now.

Police Will Be Armed and Ready

When the riots broke out in Ferguson, Missouri, Obama saw just one thing: police armed to the teeth. He didn’t seem to notice the rocks, bottles and even shots fired at police officers. His stance was that armored vehicles and police wearing military-grade riot gear would antagonize rioters and looters.

“We’ve seen how militarized gear can sometimes give people a feeling like there’s an occupying force as opposed to a force that’s part of the community that’s protecting them and serving them,” Obama said at the time. “It can alienate and intimidate local residents and send the wrong message.”

That’s a real head-scratcher considering Ferguson. In other words, allow criminals to vandalize, destroy businesses and attack police? Missouri Gov. Nixon, a Democrat, even told the National Guard to stand down while chaos ruled the streets of Ferguson. Perhaps this was a precursor to Antifa riots in Berkeley the city’s liberal leadership allowed.

Trump has struck down the Obama ban on police departments purchasing military surplus equipment and weapons. The fully operational assets have been decommissioned by the Armed Forces, but work perfectly well. The move ends the wasteful destruction of these resources, and saves local municipalities money because they comes at a reduced price.

Most importantly, police across the country can be better prepared to defend against terror attacks, hostage situations and mass shootings.

The White House’s favorite Fake News outlet was predictably quick to resource its ultra-left connections to decry the move. Vanita Gupta, of the rarely quoted and little-known Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, said that Obama’s “guidelines were created after Ferguson to ensure that police departments had a guardian, not warrior, mentality.”

National Fraternal Order of Police Chuck Canterbury applauded the president, saying “The previous administration was more concerned about the image of law enforcement being too ‘militarized’ than they were about our safety.”

The Trump Administration has thumbed its collective nose at all things liberal, and the so-called “values” touted by the previous administration. Job-killing EPA and other agency regulations have been struck down. Border Patrol enforcement has been amped up. NAFTA is being renegotiated. Taxpayer government Climate Change “envoy” positions are being phased out and we’re winning the War on Terror in Iraq.

Mr. Trump, more nose thumbing please.
