Trump Makes a Major Move to Rein in the Intel Agencies Opposing Him

WASHINGTON D.C.- USA - Nov, 2019: Vector illustration of American president, Donald Trump. US President Trump on dark background.

Donald Trump has been making some epic moves to put a leash on the “six ways from Sunday” boys in the intelligence agencies. He fully understands that the same agencies that targeted him during his first administration and that tried to murder him—twice—during the presidential campaign have not turned over a new leaf.

Trump and his team are wielding immense power behind the scenes right now. For example, Trump just kicked swamp creature Mike Turner off of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) is an anti-Trump, RINO, spineless, dishonest shill for the three-letter intel agencies. Anyone who knows Mike Turner should have been incredibly nervous when House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) appointed him to the committee. Mike Turner was not just a member of the Intel Committee. He was the new Chairman until this week.

Johnson told the media on Wednesday that he had removed Mike Turner because the “intelligence community and everything related to (the committee) needs a fresh start.”

Turner then did what any bedrock MAGA conservative with a steely spine would do in that situation. He ran to CBS News and gave an interview to Margaret Brennan. (We’re being sarcastic now. Margaret Brennan is married to an intel agency spook named Ali Iyad Yakub.)

Turner regretfully informed CBS News that he had been removed from his chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee because of “concerns from Mar a Lago.”

I’ll bet.

Mike Turner was the most vocal House Member last April when the illegal, unconstitutional warrantless FISA spy program was up for reauthorization. He was on every media outlet repeating the lie that without FISA, Americans would be killed by ISIS. These were of course the same FISA rules that were used to spy on the Trump campaign and fabricate the Russia hoax in 2015-16. The FBI has been caught abusing the FISA system to illegally spy on more than 3 million Americans without warrants.

The intel agencies’ excuses from their little puppets like Mike Turner are always the same: Unless the government can take pictures of you on the toilet using your cell phone without a warrant or your knowledge or consent, terrorists will get us all.

Trump has no authority in the House of Representatives. Mike Johnson didn’t have to boot Turner from the Intel Committee. Johnson appointed Turner, after all. But President-Elect Trump wields such tremendous power over the GOP now that this move should give us all hope. Trump told Johnson to kick Turner off the Intel Committee, and Johnson complied. That’s encouraging!

Don’t forget, Sen. Mark Warner (R-VA) was the swamp creature who was running the Senate Intelligence Committee during Donald Trump’s first term. Long after the rest of America had concluded that the Russia collusion hoax was a complete fabrication made up by Hillary Clinton’s campaign, Warner was still trying to dig up Adam Schiff’s proof of Russia collusion.

The Senate Intel Committee kept its Russia collusion probe open even after Robert Mueller delivered his final report to Congress and admitted there was never any collusion and Donald Trump has no connections to Russia. Why did Sen. Warner do that?

Because he is an ideological clone of Mike Turner. The intel agencies, along with the House and Senate Intel Committees, were constant thorns working to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency from January 2017 through January 2021.

Trump has also established a new President’s Intelligence Advisory Board to serve in his administration. The board will consist of civilians with security clearances. The chairman of this newly formed board will be former Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA), who was the last good chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Nunes, you’ll remember, was the one who exposed the Russia collusion hoax for what it really was.

This is an advisory board that will be OUTSIDE the government and OUTSIDE of the intel agencies. They will be trusted Trump allies who know and understand the games that the intel agencies play. During his first term, the agencies used intel briefings to lie to Donald Trump and keep him isolated and controlled. That’s not going to happen during Trump’s second rodeo. The Intelligence Advisory Board will be President Trump’s team of BS detectors.

With Mike Turner kicked off the House Intel Committee, we should all be celebrating. Just how bad was Mike Turner? He’s so awful that last April, Tucker Carlson put on a jacket and tie to deliver one of his rare monologues about Turner and his role in the FISA warrantless spying on America.
