Trump Warns of New Chinese AI Threat Which Should Serve as “Wake-up Call” to Every American

China has unveiled a terrifyingly powerful new artificial intelligence (AI) which President Donald Trump said should serve as a “wake-up call” to the United States about the ongoing threat posed by the Chinese.

The new Chinese AI is called DeepSeek R1, a product which considerably outperforms it’s American counterparts at a fraction of the cost. DeepSeek, has links to the Chinese Communist Party.

Now you may or may not be the biggest fan of AI in general, but that shouldn’t change the fact that the idea of Communist China being the world’s leaders in the space poses a genuine threat to our country,  9a nation which they have openly stated they want dethrone as the world’s leading superpower.

While speaking to a group of Republican lawmakers, Trump warned why this is so alarming.

Last week, I signed an order revoking Joe Biden’s destructive artificial intelligence regulations so that AI companies can once again focus on being the best, not just being the most woke,” Trump said.

Today and over the last couple of days, I’ve been reading about China and some of the companies in China, one in particular, coming up with a faster method of AI and much less expensive method.”

“The release of DeepSeek AI from a Chinese company should be a wake-up call for our industries, that we need to be laser-focused on competing to win, because we have the greatest scientists in the world.”

The AI race is the modern day equivalent of the race for an atom bomb. Whatever nation leads that race, controls the fate of the world in its hands.

And it’s with that in mind, that CIA Director John Ratcliffe recently suggested that the president could be planning to form a national AI lab comparable to the Manhattan Project, a top secret World War II-era program which saw the government throw virtually unlimited resources at a group of experts in an effort to develop the atomic bomb before our enemies got a chance to.

When you talk about AI, one of the things I want to explore is whether we can expand and establish a national laboratory for the development of AI to help the U.S. government leverage emerging technology to make sure American leadership is that,” Ratcliffe said to Breitbart News.

He said the recent announcement from Trump of AI-focused “Project Stargate,” could be expanded upon to become this modern-day Manhattan Project.

“You saw this initiative the president discussed—Project Stargate—which is the four-year, $500 billion AI infrastructure project that’s been proposed with all of our great technology companies,” Ratcliffe said.

We could expand on that with a public-private partnership where a government element could participate… We need to be thinking about the ways we can do that to counter how our adversaries are using things like the cyber threats to their strategic advantage…”

As Trump pointed out, over the past four years President Joe Biden handicapped American businesses in the AI space, and given his shady history of bending the knee to China, he may have done this intentionally to give them aa leg up in the AI race.

Under the Trump administration, we’re going to unleash our tech companies, and we’re going to dominate the future like never before,” the president said.

Will this be enough to counter the growing threat that China’s AI prowess poses to America?
