One of the best things that could have happened for discourse in this country was when Fox News fired Tucker Carlson. That allowed him to take the corporate leash off and start over.
On Thursday night, Tucker held one of his final live events of 2024 in Arizona and it turned out to be one of the best Trump rallies of all time. That would never have happened if Tucker was still on Fox News.
He could have kept collecting his paycheck from Fox and being neutered this whole time, but instead, he’s become a force for the MAGA movement that has been far stronger than we ever imagined.
Nicole Shanahan was the opening speaker. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s running mate was on the verge of tears throughout her entire speech. She and RFK, Jr. both looked stunned to be in front of such a huge crowd. They continue to be overwhelmed by not only the sheer size of Trump’s rallies—but also by the fact that they have been truly embraced by MAGA.
The media completely froze the RFK-Shanahan ticket out of the 2024 race. It was like they weren’t even running a campaign as far as the fake news was concerned. As a result, they were lucky to fill a coffee shop when they held an event.
Imagine coming out of that environment and then going on stage in front of tens of thousands of supporters suddenly and getting a standing ovation because the crowd really does appreciate you that much. It has to be mind-blowing.
Trump’s plane was running a bit late, so RFK stayed on stage and improvised for 30 minutes. He gave me goosebumps a couple of times. His best line from the night:
“I spent 19 years praying that God would help me stop chronic disease among children. In August, God sent me Donald Trump.”
That line made me feel glad that he’s on our side. Most of us had misgivings about RFK and Shanahan from the beginning. Trust is very hard to win when you’ve seen the movement and President Trump stabbed in the back by everyone from Ronna Romney McDaniel to Mike Pence. Until the dust settles after this election, it will be difficult to tell how much RFK and Shanahan moved the needle for Donald Trump.
If you can look at mousy little Nicole Shanahan and see a Nazi and a fascist and a person who is “garbage”—as Joe Biden called all Trump supporters this week—then you need therapy. Possibly years of therapy. You should get a prescription for SSRIs from a psychiatrist before RFK, Jr. gets them banned when he’s running the Department of Health and Human Services.
Tucker’s speech was as insightful and funny as ever. He has an uncanny ability to break things down and explain them in a way that is as simple as it is brilliant.
“The people who hate Donald Trump the most are guilty of crimes.”
And that’s it, isn’t it? When you look at the wormy little people who hate Donald Trump the most, they are obviously guilty of something. Maybe Nancy Pelosi is just a really good stock picker. Maybe Mitch McConnell lives in splendor from all that Chinese cash because he’s just such a smart person. Maybe Adam Schiff is—well, okay, he’s just obviously a crook.
These people fear that Donald Trump is going to clean up Washington, DC, and turn the bureaucracy around so that it will work on behalf of the American people again, instead of treating us like their own personal ATM machines.
President Trump spoke last at the event. He continues to amaze after surviving the assassination attempt in Butler, PA. I haven’t seen him this animated or interesting since the 2016 campaign. It was set up like an interview between Tucker and Trump, but Tucker barely asked any questions. Trump sat there and did The WeaveTM for about 90 minutes. He told stories that I’d never heard before or ones that I had forgotten.
If you need something to help fill the time between now and Election Day, you could do a lot worse than watch Tucker’s final live event of 2024:
