What do Al Gore’s presidential bid and his Inconvenient Sequel have in common? They both failed.
The follow up to the “Inconvenient Truth” global warming movie has utterly tanked at the box office, modestly cracking $1 million in ticket sales since its July 28 release. By contrast, “The Emoji Movie” (you know, those quirky faces on your cell phone) did $50 million with the same release date.
Frighteningly, “The Emoji Movie” earned a horrific 2.5 out of 10 rating at Rotten Tomatoes, and still succeeded.
Unlike the animation flick, Gore’s “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power” hasn’t even cracked the Top 50 box office draws. If the radical left is wondering why people aren’t interested in the Climate Change film, don’t blame George W. Bush, hanging chads or Big Oil — the problem is the facts.
The Truth About Global Warming
Gore’s first call to arms guaranteed the earth would warm, the seas would rise and the apocalypse was upon us. The experience of everyday people has been . . . seas didn’t rise, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse haven’t been spotted, and it may actually be a little colder in some areas.
Rather than come clean and say that the conclusions were overstated the first go-round, Gore and his army of liberals remarketed the “phenomenon” climate change. Basically, the severe weather anyone over 40 has experienced is no longer Mother Nature, it’s the result of carbon emissions. Time to call BS.
The first flick also funneled the blame for greenhouse gases on the United States. Liberals tend to hold Americans in disdain, even if they’re Americans themselves. Somehow, other countries occupy the moral high ground in their view and global warming . . . errr . . . climate change follows that same pattern.
In “An Inconvenient Truth,” Gore goes out of his way to make a case that the United States owns more than 30 percent of the world’s greenhouse emissions. China, he claims, is on the cutting edge of renewable energy and are, basically, the cavalry riding to the world’s rescue. Let’s fast forward.
Today, China leads the world in CO2 emissions, churning out 30 percent. The United States produces about 14 percent – less than half the so-called savior is generating. Granted, the Asian nation has a high population, but what happened to that cutting-edge, world-leading moral high ground technology?
The answer is simple: Gore-led liberals such as President Barack Obama imposed job-killing regulations, and China stole former American manufacturing plants. They took the money progressives were willing to get rid of.
Truth Exposed
In the first film, Gore paints a picture that had he won the election against George W. Bush, the world would be saved. But with a conservative in the White House, facts are being manipulated to hide the truth. He draws a parallel to the Big Tobacco lobby that denied cigarettes cause cancer. Unfortunately for Mr. Gore, between the $50 million first flick and today, the general public has gotten hold of some disturbing facts.
Reports of scientists being ostracized and losing their jobs for publishing papers that differed from the Climate Change Cult have been frequent over the last decade. But the bombshell hit in February when whistleblower John Bates exposed the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association for manipulating ocean temperature data. Bates, the retired former principal scientist for the organization, explained that extensive buoy data pointed to the ocean NOT warming.
Buoy measures are the gold standard for oceanographic research. When the information didn’t point to ocean warming, the organization threw it out and used “alternative” data. Their subsequent report formed the basis for the Pairs Climate Accord. President Trump, the villain in the new film, exited the accord after discovering it would cost U.S. taxpayers billions, send more jobs overseas and that China, India, Japan and others would be allowed to open numerous coal-fired electric power plants.
The truth hurts.
It’s not that climate change is a global conspiracy so much as it has grown into a doomsday cult. Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology recently came under fire for manipulating temperature records to favor global warming. The taxpayer-funded outfit properly recorded highs and shave off points from cold temperature readings, then deleted any record of the actual lows. The group has denied tampering.
Is there an Emoji for “lol”?
Perhaps Gore’s tagline “Truth to Power” is fitting. The truth has been exposed about the unscrupulous actions his Death Cult has used to manipulate public opinion. Americans aren’t buying the propaganda that the president is a villain and Americans are all bad guys. Thankfully, they’re not buying his tickets either.
