The left's latest martyr in the war against immigration enforcement is a 26-year-old man previously charged with distributing child sexual abuse material. Brendan John Geier was arrested for allegedly kicking and biting ICE officers during the ongoing protests at the Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark, New Jersey — and it turns out this guy's rap sheet is exactly what you'd expect from someone the resistance celebrates.
Because of course. Of course the guy who showed up to "peacefully protest" by sinking his teeth into law enforcement has a child porn accusation in his past. You really can't make this stuff up.
Geier was charged on Friday after an incident at approximately 10:30 p.m. in which he allegedly bit two officers — one on the forearm, one on the knuckle. Both officers required hospital treatment. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche didn't mince words: "These riots are clearly not 'peaceful protests' as you can see from the photos of these horrific wounds."
But here's where it gets worse. And with these people, it always gets worse.
Geier's prior arrest dates back to 2019 in Berks County, Pennsylvania, where he was charged with possession of child pornography and uploading child sexual abuse material. The investigation started after a 2018 tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He was 19 years old at the time, a student at Kutztown University, and authorities seized his laptop, computer, and iPhone as evidence.
So what happened to him? Two years of probation. That's it. Judge Patrick T. Barrett signed off on a plea deal in 2021 that let Geier plead guilty to the reduced charge of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility. A slap on the wrist for distributing images of child abuse.
And now this same individual is out there biting federal officers and getting lionized by the anti-ICE crowd as some kind of freedom fighter. The left has an absolutely stunning talent for choosing the worst possible spokespeople for their causes.
Let's be real about what's happening at Delaney Hall. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin has pointed out that some of the detainee complaints include a lack of "ethnic food." Meanwhile, the protesters — some of whom reporter Andy Ngo documented traveling from as far as Portland — have turned the area into a war zone. Reporter Cam Higby was robbed by rioters during the chaos.
These are the "peaceful demonstrators" the media keeps telling us about. One of them literally chewed on a federal officer and has a history of trafficking in child exploitation material. But sure, they're the good guys.
Here's the uncomfortable truth the mainstream media will never report: the Delaney Hall protests aren't about human rights. They're about obstructing law enforcement, period. And the people doing the obstructing? Well, let's just say background checks aren't part of the application process for joining the resistance.
When your movement's foot soldiers include a guy who got probation for distributing child porn and celebrates it by assaulting federal officers, maybe it's time to ask what exactly you're fighting for. We already know the answer. They just don't want you to see it.
