Congress Goes After Christians, Passes Bill Criminalizing Their Beliefs about Jesus Christ’s Death

The House of Representatives just passed one of the most alarming bills we have EVER seen, criminalizing certain religious beliefs in America and NUKING the First Amendment.

Under the guise of “fighting religious hate speech” Congress’ new “Antisemitism Awareness Act” is a terrifying piece of legislation which BANS criticism of a foreign government and labels certain Christian scriptures as “antisemitic.”

The bill was passed 320-91 and saw opposition from both parties who pointed to serious free speech concerns. It was introduced by traitorous Republican Rep. Mike Lawler and received support from 15 Democratic co-sponsors.

“I’m proud that my bill, the Antisemitism Awareness Act, just passed the House of Representatives 320 to 91. This bill has broad, bipartisan support and will begin the process of cracking down on the antisemitism we’ve seen run rampant on college campuses across America,” Rep. Lawler wrote.

However, this bill intentionally defines antisemitism very broadly and is at its core, un-American.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was one of the Republicans who opposed the bill, doing so over a concern that the language in it would give the government the power to criminalize Christians for their religious beliefs, especially regarding the death of Jesus Christ.

“Antisemitism is wrong, but I will not be voting for the Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2023 (H.R. 6090) today that could convict Christians of antisemitism for believing the Gospel that says Jesus was handed over to Herod to be crucified by the Jews,” Greene wrote.

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz was another critic and he pointed out that this legislation COMPLETELY disregards the Constitution and the common understanding of words.

“This evening, I will vote AGAINST the ridiculous hate speech bill called the “Antisemitism Awareness Act.” Antisemitism is wrong, but this legislation is written without regard for the Constitution, common sense, or even the common understanding of the meaning of words,” Gaetz wrote.

Gaetz added, “The Gospel itself would meet the definition of antisemitism under the terms of this bill! The bill says the definition of antisemitism includes “contemporary examples of antisemitism” identified by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). One of those examples includes: “…claims of Jews killing Jesus…” The Bible is clear. There is no myth or controversy on this. Therefore, I will not support this bill.”

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie further eviscerated the bill by pointing out that it was a “poorly conceived unconstitutional bill.”

“The definition of antisemitism appears nowhere in the bill! Should people in America be prosecuted for saying these things in all contexts? I think not. This is a poorly conceived unconstitutional bill, and I will vote no,” Massie wrote.

But it certainly doesn’t seem as though this bill tramples all over the constitution by accident.

After far-left George Soros funded rioters made headlines with their antisemitic acts all over the country, Congress produces a communist bill which eradicates free speech and freedom of religion in one fell swoop – that is no coincidence.

It’s worth mentioning that the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin had a similar law which punished “antisemitism” with the utmost severity of the law – in some cases even sentencing them to death.

When America is passing laws which resemble those that we saw in Stalin’s Soviet Union that’s a terrifying sign for the future of this country.

  3. These people will pay dearly when Jesus returns. I will still pray, and celebrate Jesus Christ death and resurrection. Let me point out Jesus gave his life willingly. Had nothing to do with the Jews or Romans. Those who make laws against the Bible, need to read it first.

  4. Bless the Jews and condemn the Jewish haters! The Present Jews did no harm to Christ! They believe in His Father!

  5. This is just another congress failure, money and power come first with this administration. If people choose to follow and support Hamas, they should be held accountable and forfeit their freedom God Bless Isreal

    1. Amen. To try and deny what Hamas did on Oct 7 is ludicrous. Israel has a right to defend itself. It is true that many innocent Palestinians are being killed, but so were other innocent people Oct 7. Palestinians are not the problem…Hamas is. But Israel has put up with this crap for years. I do have ideas about ending this century -old conflict, but neither side would like it.

      1. The Palestinians who support Hamas are a significant part of the problem. Those Palestinians are not “innocent”.
