New Poll Exposes Democrats As Liars

Sixty-five percent of their own voters support photo ID to vote. Let that satisfying little number rattle around in your head for a second. Sixty-five percent of Democrats. Not Republicans. Not independents. Democrats. The same party whose leadership spends every waking hour screaming that voter ID is a racist relic of Jim Crow — their own people think it’s just common sense.

And yet, Chuck Schumer and friends keep marching out in front of cameras like they’re leading a civil rights crusade. Against what, exactly? Showing your driver’s license? You need one to buy Sudafed at CVS, but apparently asking for it at the ballot box is where America crosses into authoritarianism.

Welcome to the Democratic Party in 2026 — where the base says one thing and the brass does the opposite, then wonders why nobody trusts them anymore.

The Numbers Don’t Lie (But Democrats Sure Do)

A brand-new CBS News poll dropped this week, and the results are about as subtle as a brick through a window. Eighty percent of Americans favor requiring valid photo ID to vote. That’s not a slim majority. That’s not a “trending” opinion. That’s a consensus so fat you could see it from space.

Break it down by party: Republicans at 95%, independents at 79%, and yes — Democrats at 65%. Break it down by race: white voters at 80%, Black voters at 80%, Hispanic voters at 77%. There’s your “Jim Crow 2.0,” folks. Apparently Jim Crow is wildly popular with the very people Democrats claim he’s targeting.

And here’s where it gets even more uncomfortable for the left. The poll also asked about proof of citizenship to register to vote — a central piece of the Trump-backed SAVE America Act. Sixty-six percent of Americans support it. That includes 60% of Black voters and 63% of Hispanic voters. Even 43% of Democrats are on board, which means the party’s own base is nearly split on an issue their senators are treating like the end of democracy.

The Demagoguery Machine Keeps Grinding

None of this is new. CNN’s own data guru, Harry Enten, laid it out back in February with the kind of clarity that must’ve made his producers sweat through their blazers:

“A photo ID to vote is not controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party — and it is not controversial by race.”

When CNN is admitting your talking point is dead on arrival, you don’t have a messaging problem. You have a lying problem.

But Democratic leadership can’t stop. They’re too invested. They’ve spent years — decades — building voter ID into their grand narrative of Republican oppression. My colleague Sister Toldjah knows this dance intimately from North Carolina, where leftist groups dragged the state through years of legal warfare over a voter ID law signed back in 2013. The state eventually won, especially after voters themselves approved a constitutional amendment on photo ID in 2018. Voters. Approving voter ID. The horror.

It was a costly, unnecessary battle then, and the sequel playing out in Washington right now is even dumber.

Trump Brought the Bulldozer

The SAVE America Act is straightforward: prove you’re a citizen to register, show your ID to vote. That’s it. That’s the whole sinister plot. Trump didn’t tiptoe around this one — he put it front and center because he knows what every honest poll confirms. Americans want election integrity. They want to know that only citizens are casting ballots. The radical notion that you should be who you say you are before you help pick the leader of the free world.

Schumer, naturally, got tripped up when a reporter had the audacity to ask him directly about voter ID. Meanwhile, John Fetterman remains the lone Democratic senator willing to say what two-thirds of his own party’s voters already believe. One guy. Out of the entire Democratic caucus. That’s not a party with a diversity of thought — that’s a cult with one escapee.

The Wrong Side of Everything

This is the same Democratic Party that’s on the wrong side of DHS funding, the wrong side of the Iran strikes, the wrong side of the Minnesota fraud scandal. At some point, being wrong about everything stops looking like bad luck and starts looking like a business model.

The Senate kicked off its week-long debate on the SAVE America Act with a 51-48 vote, and Democrats are going to spend every minute of it pretending that 80% of America is wrong and they’re the enlightened few standing between the republic and fascism. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt put it plainly:

“The SAVE America Act does not prohibit anyone from voting except illegal aliens.”

That’s the hill Democrats chose to die on — defending the right of non-citizens to muddy up American elections. And they’re doing it while their own voters wave photo IDs in the air and wonder what the hell their party is talking about.

When 80% of the country agrees on something and your party is in the 20% screaming no, you’re not the resistance. You’re the problem. And the polls just made sure everyone knows it.
