If there’s a silver lining to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s that Washington elites have been completely exposed. The recent stimulus packages saw Democrats backdoor billions in funding for special interests while President Donald Trump fought for small business employers and farmers.
The Trump Administration recently unveiled a $19 billion relief package to help shepherd American farmers through the economic downturn caused by the virus China lied about.
“Given the level of hardship facing farmers & ranchers, more assistance will be required,” President Trump tweeted. “I will work to address the struggling (agriculture) economy and rural communities, including the need to keep food supply chains intact, meat processing plants open & ethanol facilities viable.”
The farm-aid package will reportedly provide $16 billion in direct payments to ailing farmers, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture has been empowered to purchase $3 billion in food for redistribution to low-income and struggling families.
“This aid will help keep food on Americans’ tables by providing a lifeline to farm families already hit by trade wars and severe weather,” Trump added.
This won’t be the first time the president put the interests of growers, ranchers, and other food suppliers at the top of his priority list. Trump fought tooth and nail to ensure farmers were rightly compensated after China targeted them during the trade war. When the communists finally folded under tariff pressure, the Trump Administration would not tamp down the fight until China agreed to buy upwards $50 billion in agricultural goods.
“These are great people, great Americans, never complain, never complain — they just do what they have to do,” Trump said at the time. “This will help our farmers and our ranchers, and it’s money well deserved.”
By contrast, Washington Democrats have turned relief for working Americans into a political football. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other far-left elites recently blocked $250 billion in aid to shuttered small businesses. The Paycheck Protection Program funds to support small businesses through the economic shutdown ran dry. Democrats are now once again trying to hold the country hostage and fund purely political special interests.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell suggested adding revenue to the critical small business resource separately from another stimulus package. The move would have delivered swift relief and helped keep mom and pop operations from falling into bankruptcy. Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer would have none of it. Instead, they are plotting to make the next stimulus package another liberal slush fund.
Pelosi and her cohorts stunned working Americans by inserting a $25 million payoff to the Kennedy Center, a liberal operation already fully funded. The organization promptly furloughed its staff and artists in its orchestra after pocketing the taxpayer money.
In Washington, D.C., we see two major parties with polar opposite values. Democrats continue to powermonger along with the ranks of special interest organizations with zero regards for working families. And Republicans led by President Trump, who have the backs of small businesses, working people, and great American farmers.
“During this time of national crisis, President Trump and USDA are standing with our farmers, ranchers, and all citizens to make sure they are taken care of,” U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue said. “The American food supply chain had to adapt, and it remains safe, secure, and strong, and we all know that starts with America’s farmers and ranchers. This program will not only provide immediate relief for our farmers and ranchers, but it will also allow for the purchase and distribution of our agricultural abundance to help our fellow Americans in need.”
It will be a good day when Piglosi ,and whiny Schutmer are not in Congress anymore . All they do is lie too the American and take their hard earned tax money and line their crooked pockets with it . They’re nothing but power grabbing hate mongers .

The American farmers got in trouble when Trump STARTED the trade war. Inevitably, China was going to respond, causing Trump to eventually provide what was essentially a welfare program to help the beleaguered farmers.
Re: the stimulus package: like the previous one, the latest one, pushed by McConnell (R.Ky) was inadequate. Dems voted against it for that reason. The outcome: a much better bill, that Trump will be signing this week, that aids Democrats’ “special interests” such as hospitals, medical workers, and a greater amount of money to small businesses.

Farmers don’t live in the big cities where Democrats get most of their votes. Since they can’t by farmers’ votes, they don’t care.

NO FARMERS, NO FOOD at the stores, Well many could loose 30 pounds or more, but others will die with no Food in the stores, putting this off, when they work outdoors, usually alone on tractors, tilling the fields to plant crops to feed all of us and the ranchers of all types animals so they can be sold for food, eggs, beef, poultry, pork, vegetables almost everything we eat comes from farmers- simple no FARMERS NO FOOD .
So whether it be food for cattle (goodbye beef) those who deliver pigs for market, (goodbye Pork, Bacon) , those who lose their chickens (no chickens for poultry meals) from chickens unable to be feed, say goodbye to eggs) There will be a huge shortage of meats at the stores, and of course eggs from those farmers who have chickens to supply eggs for this country, when the farmers close, there goes this nations food supply, Think about it food does not grow means a lot of foods we eat will become scarce,
Many crops, like corn and vegetables will not be around in mid summer, if they cannot plant crops now. no crops no animals raised for food, means people will starve.

It is a shame the demos do not know where the food they buy at the store comes from. AND it is sad that most of the money goes to the big farming conglomerates with nothing for the small farmer struggling to hang on. And since when does medical aid (which I know is important), abortion money, handouts to illegals, etc. belong in a farm bill. Already the major part of farm bills go to food stamp programs. If they want to help the farmers, then help the farmers, not all these other interests. Farmers are the ones breaking their backs working in the fields to put food on your plate.
Sending money to farmers that need it is a much better virus relief measure than sending money from the taxpayers of fiscally responsible states to bail out fiscally irresponsible states that had fiscal problems of their own making before the virus problem occurred. Virus relief should go to individuals and companies, not to local and state governments. The Federal government doesn’t have any more money than they have.
I hope Sec of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, stays on this agribusiness relief package for marketing and distribution, since we see’ll major issues in the future, if we don’t. Apparently, Pelosi and the Democrats don’t have common sense, and haven’t taken the situation seriously. It appears that Pelosi’s team, had allowed quite a few groups or businesses to get money, who are already being independently financed. Several millionaire companies, who have their own slush funds, have been reprimanded to return millions back for the small business. I hope this situation is remedied quickly, so we can get past this nonsense soon. What are they hoping to gain if they starve to death or destroy the nation? Don’t they understand they will go down, too? Pelosi would only live so long on her freezers of ice cream. Wiser to get united and pull the work force together. This is a famous saying, but I don’t recall the historian. May God save America, for it’s obvious, the people can’t or won’t.
