South Carolina Republican Gov. Henry McMaster has used his own executive action to stop President Joe Biden from housing unaccompanied immigrant children in his state. McMaster referred to COVID-19 and the state’s limited resources as reasons for his order.
The executive action directed the state’s Department of Social Services (DSS) “to prevent placements of unaccompanied migrant children entering the United States via the southern border into residential group care facilities or other foster care facilities located in, and licensed by, the State of South Carolina.”
McMaster added, “South Carolina’s children must always be given first priority for placement into foster care and the State’s strained resources must be directed to addressing the needs of its children.”
DSS Director Michael Leech had recently sent a letter to the governor regarding bringing unaccompanied minors who have crossed the nation’s southern border into the South Carolina. The state has become one of many locations under discussion to house the nearly 19,000 unaccompanied minors now in the nation in the short time since Biden has taken office.
Current facilities have been overwhelmed in border states. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) called on the Biden administration last week to shut down one facility in San Antonio due to its poor treatment of minors.
Leaked images and video footage of current facilities also reveal the crowded conditions of current locations. With operations beyond maximum capacity and no plans to stop the increased flow of immigrants, the Biden administration is seeking new locations in states far beyond Texas.
Iowa’s governor recently turned down a request from the Biden administration to house unaccompanied minors. Iowa is more than 1,700 miles from the Mexican border.
South Carolina has taken the next step to prevent the federal government from moving unaccompanied minor immigrants to the Palmetto State. McMaster’s plan uses Biden’s own weapon of executive action to stop the left’s destructive plans from spreading to the traditionally red state.
The left will certainly cry out against the governor, labeling McMaster as hateful for turning against orphaned children. Maybe the woke police will come from South Carolina too and try to move business from the state for its allegedly discriminatory practices.
It’s not a perfect solution, but McMaster’s move at least limits the options the federal government has in pouring its immigration problems onto another conservative state. Instead of sending immigrants across the country, the nation needs to return to the Trump-era Remain in Mexico policy. If it did, immigrants would be forced to remain outside of the U.S. until approved to enter the nation.
But if Trump’s name is associated with it, you know the left’s answer is no. Unfortunately, the anti-Trump party has also become the anti-American party, and it’s no party at all. It’s more like a funeral, watching the nation slowly die at the hands of those whose top goal is to destroy anything that resembles American freedom.
Finally, a governor with common sense. What are the rest of you Republican Governors waiting for?

If Biden the marxist, wants them let them go to Illinois, California, Oregon, Michigan and all the rest of their almost communist blue states.
America already has its own problems with our own kids and is. It our responsibility to take care of kids coming from all over the world .
Besides, what kind of parents would send their kids as young as 6, 7, 10 yrs old to go by themselves (or by any
stranger) to a place they know nothing about ???

YES! Send all these ILLEGAL kids home, immediately, no lawyers, no courts, just send them back to their parents – get the pictures, fingerprints and DNA so they can never come to America again. Just send them back immediately. If we cannot ID the parents, drop them off at the Mexican Embassy and be done with this crap! Parents should be arrested and prosecuted for child abuse! Turn the kids over to the Mexican government and never allow any of them to come to USA for any reason.
