Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., has just made a move that might dwarf the mass deportation efforts of Tom Homan and the heroes of ICE. Who saw that coming?
Kennedy’s team uncovered a stunning laundry list of taxpayer-funded welfare and health insurance benefits and grants that illegal aliens have been siphoning out of the US Treasury for almost 30 years. And he cut all the illegal aliens off this week. Access denied!
Back in 1996, a Republican Congress passed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act. Bill Clinton signed it into law. In 1998, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) reinterpreted the law, on the premise that Congress had accidentally excluded illegal aliens from a torrential list of welfare benefits. Oopsie!
For the subsequent 27 years, no one at HHS or in Congress ever bothered to do any oversight. No one, including self-proclaimed budget hawks like Thomas Massie or Rand Paul, ever spoke out about this. These welfare programs have never been audited to determine just how many illegal aliens were benefiting from them.
We’re not kidding about the size of this list of programs. For almost three decades, the position of Congress and HHS has been that illegal aliens are not eligible for any federal benefits.
Here’s the full list of HHS programs that illegals have been accessing for the past 27 years:
Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics; Community Mental Health Services Block Grant; Community Services Block Grant (CSBG); Head Start; Health Center Program; Health Workforce Programs not otherwise previously covered (including grants, loans, scholarships, payments, and loan repayments); Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment, Prevention, and Recovery Support Services Programs administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration; Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness Grant Program; Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant; Title IV-E Educational and Training Voucher Program; Title IV-E Kinship Guardianship Assistance Program; Title IV-E Prevention Services Program; and the Title X Family Planning Program.
That’s quite a list, don’t you think? And for 27 years, HHS has never bothered to verify citizenship when doling out those benefits. That all changes now. For the first time in 27 years, HHS is required to verify eligibility before doling out any cash from that huge list of programs. That includes state-level programs, so California and other blue states can’t continue sneaking money into the pockets of illegal aliens.
We have no idea how many illegals were accessing these programs, but again, HHS never turned anyone away who applied for them over the past 27 years. The FY 2024 budget for these programs was a combined $70.13 billion.
I know we have a lot of mentally ill, drug-addicted homeless Americans right now, especially after four years of Bidenomics. But is it $70 billion-per-year worth of mentally ill, drug-addicted Americans? Couldn’t we treat most of them for just a couple of hundred million in taxpayers’ money?
The One Big Beautiful Bill, which is now the law of the land, cuts 1.4 million illegal aliens off from accessing Medicaid.
Or ICE can do it the hard way.
Agents raided a “farm” in Ventura County, California, this week and arrested dozens of employees, including several illegal alien children. Local media claimed that Trump was going to collapse the food supply in America by disrupting the work of these vital agricultural workers, who were doing jobs that Americans just won’t do.
Governor Gavin Newsom responded to the raid with his usual girlish hysterics:
Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields.

Um… Gavin? That’s a weed farm.
A competent governor might be asking why there were illegal alien child slaves working in a marijuana field that’s affiliated with a drug cartel. Instead, “Newscum” is trying to play a game of “I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I” with President Trump.
By the way, one of those “vital agricultural workers” started shooting at ICE agents when they showed up. There’s a $50,000 reward for anyone who can ID him. He’s probably a cartel thug who was there to keep the slaves in line. Thanks for letting such nice neighbors into the country, Democrats.
Meanwhile, hospitals in cities like Los Angeles and Houston are reporting that 30% of scheduled appointments have been no-shows for the past two weeks. I wonder why?
It turns out that if you cut off welfare benefits for these people, they just go home on their own. What a novel concept!
