Nearly 90 retired generals and admirals signed a letter Monday demanding Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley to resign over the failed departure of the U.S. military from Afghanistan.
“The hasty retreat has left initial estimates at ~15,000 Americans stranded in dangerous areas controlled by a brutal enemy along with ~25,000 Afghan citizens who supported American forces,” the letter read.
“As principal military advisors to the CINC/President, the SECDEF and CJCS should have recommended against this dangerous withdrawal in the strongest possible terms.
“If they did not do everything within their authority to stop the hasty withdrawal, they should resign. Conversely, if they did do everything within their ability to persuade the CINC/President to not hastily exit the country without ensuring the safety of our citizens and Afghans loyal to America, then they should have resigned in protest as a matter of conscience and public statement,” the letter added.
Following the withdraw of U.S. troops, the Taliban quickly took over power of Afghanistan. Thousands of Americans were still in the country, requiring 6,000 troops to be sent back to Afghanistan to assist with evacuations.
A suicide bombing killed more than 100 people last week, including 13 U.S. military members. After leaving on Aug. 31, several hundred Americans remain trapped under the Taliban’s control.
In addition to people lost and left behind, the U.S. military left behind an enormous amount of equipment now under the control of the Taliban. One popular graphic on Twitter notes the Taliban now have access to up to 33 Mi-17 helicopters, 33 Blackhawks and 43 MD530 helicopters.
Imagine the stupidity it takes to leave behind more than 300,000 assault rifles and 169 tanks. We’ve not only left Afghanistan to the Taliban’s control. We’ve turned them into a top military power.
No wonder so many military leaders are calling for the resignations of top defense leaders. They’re not alone. A growing number of voices have called for resignations from President Joe Biden or other top leaders over the botched exit. So far, no major firings or resignations have taken place.
Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn called on numerous top leaders to be removed from office on Monday, tweeting, “Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Antony Blinken, Lloyd Austin and General Milley should all resign or face impeachment and removal from office.”
Wouldn’t that be nice about now? If our top leaders are going to give up on Americans, maybe we can drop those leaders in Afghanistan in exchange for the rest of our American citizens who were left behind? Let’s see how Biden likes being left behind under Taliban rule. Or maybe see what it’s like for a woman living under strict Islamic law?
Just the thought of such an action would cause some major change in Washington’s leadership. We need some sense of urgency to wake up Sleepy Joe and MIA Harris. If nothing else, at least replace our nation’s military leaders with new people who will reject the woke agenda and work to truly protect America.
All the top echelon needs to go, by resignation, not impeachment. Impeachment takes too long leaving more time open for their horror show. Whatever your religious affiliation is, you need to pray and pray hard as we are in deep trouble as a nation.
If you do not love this country the answer is simple, leave. You will not find better!

Out of 250,000 rescued — only 5% were Americans — makes you sick, Right ??? And what Intelligent Military Head would leave $85-86 Billion worth of equipment for the Taliban ? Well, lets put Biden, Kamala, Peloski, and all their Socialist friends on a FAST plane to Afghanistan and let them watch what the Taliban, IsisK, etc. are now doing to innocent women, girls, & entire families that they think helped the US…knowing that is what is going to happen to themselves next ! As a retired AF officer I served as a volunteer as a civil servant government employee for a year in Afghanistan ! Proud to do so! This was the worse operation in the history of our country. Each of these administration woke CRT military generals & Civilian Secretaries should resign or be impeached! There was a plan for orderly withdrawal and was not even considered! As a military officer we do not leave Americans behind nor our loyal Afghan nationals that supported us. We do not give aid to our enemies by leaving military equipment in tact this could have been removed or rendered unusable! This debacle rest solely on Joe Biden’s an Democratic radical left woke members!
I agree that the top generals should go. Makes me wonder how they became generals in the first place! AND Biden, Harris and Pelosi should be kicked out of office. This never would have happened under President Trump’s watch!
America needs to be a country where democracy reigns and everyone is held accountable for their actions. It shouldn’t matter how much money, influence, prestige, or what office you hold…what should matter is how well you perform the duties of your office, and that your words and actions reflect true wisdom, honesty, integrity, and a noble sense of commitment to the American people that you represent. With huge responsibility comes huge accountability to the American people, this country, and our allies. The world watches closely when America stumbles and we must never allow a defeat to become a victory for our enemies, but, instead, we must rise up swiftly in strength and wisdom moving forward. If you are elected to speak for the people then speak for them be their voice, not the voice of special interest or your own personal feelings. If you fail the people of the United States, intentionally or unintentionally, in a catastrophic way, acknowledge it and resign. Admitting failure is not a sign of weakness, but of human error. If you know a bill is rotten at its core…don’t negotiate it to get something else…vote no. Our conscious and our souls are what we leave this world with and in the presence of God all is revealed. This country must uphold the morals, values, principles, integrity, and genuine sincerity it is known for among all nations…we have always been one nation under God, and must remain that way. Look what has happened since extreme ideas have taken a foothold in our country, trying to penetrate and change that which is our basic foundation. God, family, country, integrity, and honor should always be what America stands for and is about….it’s who we are, who we’ve always been, and hopefully, always will be. It is obvious the government of Joe Biden does not love America and their plans are to destroy it completely. If they will not go willingly then they should be forced out and sent to Guantanamo until they are no more. We can’t afford to wait another second to correct this God-awful situation …..or there will be no more America the beautiful. They are wicked ….and every horrible thing they have done so far ….they have done with malice and forethought….these are not accidental mess-ups that have occurred….it has been a well planned and thought-out operation ….and has been carried out like clock-work. Don’t think for a minute that these are mistakes they have made accidentally….no, no, no….they did this on purpose.
