It has now been more than 40 days since President Joe Biden tapped Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the nation’s immigration response along the southern border. To “celebrate,” let’s take a look at all the places Harris has visited other than the border.
The journey looks more like a game of Chutes and Ladders, with Harris going up and then down to various locations and then heading back to Washington. Since her selection as immigration czar, here are some of her visits.
First, Harris traveled to New Haven, Connecticut, on Mar. 26. The vice president visited a Boys and Girls Club where she spoke about COVID-19.
Next, Harris headed home to California for Easter weekend. Yes, California is a border state, but her home in Oakland is nowhere close.
Third, on Apr. 6, the VP stopped in Chicago. She visited a vaccination site, among other stops.
Fourth, Apr. 19, Harris visited Greensboro, North Carolina, where she spoke about the president’s infrastructure plan.
In late April, Harris stopped in New Hampshire. Her focus was on the American Jobs Plan.
Harris marked her 100th day in office by visiting a vaccination site in Baltimore. Close to D.C., the stop gave her an opportunity to brag about 200+ million shots — a process that began in earnest under the Trump Administration.
The latest news is that she’ll also visit Providence, Rhode Island this month.
There may be one of two other stops missed in there, but you get the idea. The vice president has visited at least six states across the country over the past six weeks, but the border seems to be a bit much to ask.
Instead, Harris has talked about a June trip to Mexico City, where she can talk about “root causes” of immigration and tree planting. Seriously.
Remember when Biden called building the wall a waste of money?
Seems like the wall at least had a goal it was working to accomplish.
What seems like a waste of money is to have the world’s best Border Patrol and not enforce immigration laws when people cross the border. We have the world’s greatest security forces — yet our leaders stand and watch thousands of people per day illegal enter our nation.
The immigration crisis is really an immigration disgrace. Only someone who does not care about the nation’s safety would allow something like this to persist.
Biden started it. Harris is on board with it. Many Democrats remain in line, though even some in the party are now speaking out.
Harris and Biden needed to visit the border a long time ago. Biden finally visited a local school this week. Maybe he can make the trip if Harris won’t.
Someone needs to show up put a stop to both the flood of people and doing something to better help the kids already in our nation. Until we do, our politicians can fly around all they want, but it’s not putting a stop to the crisis at the border.

I think every able bodied retiree or unemployed people who believe in our country’s sovereignty should stand shoulder to shoulder at the border with arms in hand and threaten any would-be illegal trespassers with the ultimate punishment if they dare to cross without going through the appropriate channels of entry.
