Kevin Clinesmith, the former FBI attorney who confessed to falsifying the email that was sent to the FISA court in order to obtain the surveillance warrant on the Trump campaign, received a mere slap on the wrist for his part in the investigation.
“Russiagate,” as it’s been called, turned up no evidence against President Trump and ran up a tab of nearly $32 million dollars for the American taxpayers to pay over a two-year span of time.
Prosecutors in the case requested a prison sentence for the lawyer who admitted to altering the email in order to influence the investigation into claims made against the Trump campaign.
The email was only one part of a series of errors, omissions, and “inaccuracies” the Department of Justice uncovered in its investigation of the FBI’s actions throughout its investigation of the Trump campaign. The maximum possible sentence for the charges against Clinesmith was five years in prison. However, many believed he would receive six months or less in prison based on current federal guidelines.
The actual sentence levied by the judge involved 12 months of probation and no actual jail time, which many deride as a slap on the wrist in light of the total costs to the American people and the political process that took place over the course of the investigation.
Prosecutors wanted at least three to six months for Clinesmith who will ultimately serve no months. They believe that his position of trust and abuse of that power should warrant serious consequences to discourage others from similar abuses.
The defendant’s attorney argued that the actions of Clinesmith was not maliciously intended to harm Page but was, in fact, an attempt to “cut a corner.” The prosecution argued that it was neither haste nor exhaustion that motivated Clinesmith, but rather his revulsion for then-President Trump.
The bottom line, according to the prosecution, was that a man in Clinesmith’s position has the responsibility of conducting his duties with professionalism, integrity, and objectivity and that he failed to do so in this instance.
U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg agreed with defense claims that the falsification of the email was nothing more than an inappropriate shortcut. The judge went on to indicate that he was not convinced that the FISA warrant would not have been signed without the falsification of the email in question.
Carter Page issued an impassioned plea to the judge as part of the 90-minute sentencing hearing discussing how his life has been negatively affected by Clinesmith’s actions including death threats, accusations of being a traitor, and frequent public harassment.
To date, Clinesmith is the only “player” that has been charged in the “Russiagate” probe.
The Judge should serve the sentence for his performance of “Ignoring the Law “when Conservatives like Roger Stone, General Flynn, and Papadopolous , were targeted for lesser “Fake ” Offenses that were pardoned by President Trump.
Klinesmith doctored Evidence that furthered the Russiagate 32 million dollar taxpayer-funded investigation and should have received more punishment than the slap on the wrist the Judge proposed.
You expected anything more from the leftist two tiered justice system that operates in American government now? How naive of you. There will not be anything more done now with Biden installed in the White House. Expect nothing but cover up after cover up of obvious crimes by Biden and his family. No more investigations, no justice, no halt to the foreign interference in our power grid and the selling of our country to China. Biden is a traitor for profit to himself and his family. All investigations are now forbidden and you will see the repeal of our constitutional Republic and the installation of a communist regime by the democrats.

I’m so sick and tired of hearing about how the law seems to work in favor of the leftist Dems! It’s been 5 YEARS of constant strife, every day in every way Pelousi and cohorts could and still can harass Republicans and Conservatives!
Now they have control of the WH and both houses of Congress. We’re witnessing the decline of America. While they have this power for at least the next two years, they’re going to make sure they fix it so they will have control for the foreseeable future.
Republicans and Conservatives let the little things slide and sat by passively. Now the small snowball has rolled downhill and is out of control. In a sense, our elected officials contributed to this debacle by omission. We have some outstanding Congress members now but I fear they’re not going to have a voice in this administration. Too late now!
When you own the Judge, and jury, you always win. But when you don’t you always lose. You saw what happened during and after the last election. The Democrats are bullet proof, or jail, proof. They own and control too many government agencies to ever be convicted and serve time.
Sad to say, but, the second amendment has become one of the most important laws to stand on very soon. Once they remove our Constitution, it’s going to be a free-for-all. If our elected Republican members will not stand up for our freedoms, we will.
This may come down to defending ourselves at our own front doors because they use the ‘divide and conquer’ system against us.
America has been the last hope for millions around the world. These Satanic agenda driven people like Pelosi, Shumer, Harris, Biden, etc, and our Obama installed judges are giving us little choice to preserve our freedom in a legal manner.
Our government has been infiltrated by leftist who want to seize total power so they can raid the US treasury and get sweet deals from foreign countries to line their own pockets. We now have one in the White House orchestrating an even deeper infiltration. Look what was done to General Flynn for making a legal phone call, and Clinesmith for falsifying court records.
They now own the vote as well. With a simple switch they choose elected officials. The only thing left is the power of our own dollar. We can spend where we want. Stop buying leftist goods or watching leftist TV. Abandon the leftish sports teams and stay out of the stores that Woke. Capitalism is still alive and still has power until the destroy that for socialism.
Had any of us done this crime we’d be sitting in prison for life!
