Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar is facing charges of bribery, unlawful foreign influence, and money laundering over $600,000 in bribes from foreign entities – but in a government full of corrupt left-wing politicians, why has Rep. Cuellar been singled out by the DOJ?
The Department of Justice released a statement on Friday outlining the allegations against Congressman Enrique Roberto “Henry” Cuellar and his wife, Imelda.
According to their indictment, the Cuellars accepted approximately $600,000 bribes from two foreign entities between December 2014 and November 2021. The entities in question are an oil and gas company owned by the Government of Azerbaijan, and a bank headquartered in Mexico City.
The DOJ says that these bribes were laundered through fraudulent “consulting” contracts and shell companies owned by Imelda Cuellar, who allegedly performed little to no actual work in exchange for the money.
“In exchange for the bribes paid by the Mexican bank, Congressman Cuellar allegedly agreed to influence legislative activity and to advise and pressure high-ranking U.S. Executive Branch officials regarding measures beneficial to the bank,” the Department of Justice stated.
However, there’s much more to these charges than meets the eye.
These types of bribes are pretty much par for the course with elected officials on the left these days given that basically all of them are willing to betray their country just to make a few bucks.
That’s why we often see so many Democrats have their net worth suddenly skyrocket by millions almost immediately after they get into office – despite only making a few hundred thousand in salary every year.
Usually, the leftist DOJ turns a blind eye to this type of corruption but on one condition, the corrupt individuals MUST NOT go against the Democrat establishment.
That’s exactly where Cuellars screwed up.
This Democrat Rep. serves Texas’ 28th district which is located in south Texas along the southern border with Mexico.
As such, Cuellars has seen his district FLOODED by Joe Biden’s illegals and has been rather outspoken about how horrible the Democrat leader’s open border policies have been for America.
Well now it seems Biden’s DOJ is looking to make him pay for that outspokenness.
Keep in mind here that this is the very same DOJ who thinks it’s perfectly okay that the Biden family has received tens of millions of dollars from foreign nations like China and Ukraine, now all of a sudden they’re pretending to care about one of their own taking $600,000 in bribes?
Had Cuellar kept his mouth shut about the failures of the regime like a good little puppet, then the DOJ would have been more than happy to simply IGNORE his corruption the same way they’re doing with Joe Biden and countless other Democrats.
We’ve seen the Justice Department weaponized against Donald Trump and other conservatives for quite some time now, but these charges suggest the Biden-controlled DOJ is getting even more bold in their efforts to silence and punish political dissidents – they’re now going after their own.
If Biden and his minions are now willing to target Democrats who speak against, that means NOBODY is safe from this tyrant!
