The big social media companies have painted themselves into a corner with their take on social engineering. They got their start offering people free access to their platforms to post their content for the small price of being tracked by algorithmic advertising research web crawlers.
They have enjoyed the benefits of advertising as an open platform while acting like publishers. That is to say, they claim all people and opinions are welcome, while quietly blocking and censoring anyone who shares views that they do not like.
Over the last 4+ years, the likes of Twitter and Facebook have been in the uncomfortable position of violently hating President Donald Trump while not being legally able to overtly shut down his accounts. This is possible as Twitter and Facebook have become so central to public discourse that they are considered to be a part of the “public square,” at least in the opinion of enough federal judges to matter.
But not all social media platforms have the burden of being important enough to qualify as parts of the public square. These second-string platforms have the potential to set a precedent for heavier censorship for leaders like Trump.
One such niche tech company, Snapchat has announced that it will no longer promote Trump’s Snapchat account in its Discover feature. Snapchat’s Discover feature is where users can be exposed to new, interesting, and promoted accounts. Like on Facebook, a Snapchat user can pay for this added promotion to grow an online business. Of course, accounts that are of particular importance are also promoted. Now, President Trump’s Snapchat account will no longer qualify for the site’s automatic placement in the Discover feed.
Where this gets sticky is the Discover feed is not part of the normal features that the site offers. Snapchat is not (as far as we know) overtly censoring the President. They have simply said that they will no longer place his content in the Discover feed. So, if you’re on Snapchat, and you’ve never heard what President Trump has to say, you might never have the chance to hear him out.
That’s how the Left plays: admit nothing, deny everything, and make counter-accusations.
Last Wednesday, Snapchat released a statement stating, “We will not amplify voices who incite racial violence and injustice by giving them free promotion on Discover.”
If you can give us one racist quote from Donald Trump, you’ll be the first. Still, it’s enough for left-wing demagogues to simply say he is one with no evidence.
The action was a response to the following tweets from Trump.
“I can’t stand back & watch this happen to, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the weak Radical-Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right..…”
and
“…These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd. I just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. We will assume control when the looting starts!”
Apparently, expressing a desire to protect the black community from violent rioters is “promoting racial violence.”
When are the congress going hit all Three of big tech and hit them with fines up to $10Billion Dollars. And broken them up for their Bias Censorship on Conservative people that are socialists communists bastards traitors democrats bastards to all Americans people Now
Exactly, Big Tech hates freedom, not Trump…but he’s their scapegoat. Big Tech thinks they are god and they don’t honor people, they only honor themselves and the money they make, and Big Tech makes mondy by causing confusion. All lives matter, our police need to be honored, the constitution honors all men, and truth is truth….and socialism is not social media, socialism is control of people without hearing their voices…so we’re back to hating Trump…the man who is standing between anarachy are freedom.

We lived just fine without social media for almost 200 years the best way to bring them down is to not use them I have NEVER used Twitter haven’t use Facebook for over 2 years I now don’t miss it at all. STOP USING IT and let them FADE AWAY
Social Media should not mean Socialist Media, but in todays’ sick World it does just that. I have never had any form of “Social Media” account, so would not miss any one of them , or indeed ALL of them.
I respect the right of others to have and use these communications technologies, but with “Rights” come “Responsibilities” – a word rarely considered in 2020 unless it refers to some distant past perceived racial transgression which could be worth large dollar signs to certain pockets of the community, ignoring the facts that the very people today now demanding “compensation” are the distant relatives of the very tribes whose activities fuelled the “people-trade” with the people they siezed on raids of neighbouring tribes..
Todays’ youngsters have much to learn, but sadly a very large segment of the adult population appear determined to teach them how to become more demanding whilst simultaneously remaining non-productive or even destructive.
These are not the “Interesting Times” of Chinese mythology, they are the desperate times of a 2020 without moral direction.
