Bumbling Joe Biden is in Really Bad Shape and That’s Bad for America Too

Here’s something that you will never see me recommend under normal circumstances: You should track down that CNN “Town Hall” with F. Joe Biden from the other day and watch the whole thing. Jiminy crickets, that guy is in bad shape! When Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev was drunk AND senile in the late 1970s, he could still put on a scripted performance that was nowhere near as embarrassing as what just happened on CNN. The term “train wreck” doesn’t even begin to describe it. And this is really bad news for America.

And why is Joe Biden doing a “Town Hall” on CNN anyway? It’s not an election year, and there’s no way Biden is going to be running for reelection in 2024. Not based on the shape that he’s in right now!

The reason for the Town Hall format is pretty simple. They did that because it could be completely scripted. The White House waited nearly five months before they felt confident for Joe Biden to hold his first (and maybe last) press conference. That was a disaster. One of the camera angles revealed that Joe actually had a cheat sheet with pictures of reporters on it, so he’d know who to call on next. In a Town Hall, Joe only has to try to keep up in a conversation with one friendly reporter – in this case, Anderson Cooper.

The Town Hall was a hot, hot mess. Cooper had to keep steering Biden back on track.

During one “answer,” Biden started rambling on and on about how poor kids don’t hear enough words spoken in their homes before they grow to school age. He didn’t accidentally blurt out my favorite Biden quote of all – “Poor kids are just as bright as white kids!” – but it was in the same ballpark.

After Biden kept rambling about how many words kids hear in early childhood for a long time, Anderson Cooper jumped in to remind Biden that the question was actually about “free community college.”

While talking about the supply chain crisis that he caused, Biden stated that 40% of all imports coming into the West Coast come to the ports in Los Angeles and, “Um, uh, um, um, um, uh, what am I doing here?” Anderson Cooper had to complete Biden’s thought: “Is it Long Beach?” Eureka!

At one point, as Cooper was asking a question, Biden stood there with his fists awkwardly clenched in front of him. It looked like he was trying to hold onto an invisible Zimmer frame, one of those walkers for extremely elderly people to help with their balance. One Twitter user compared that moment to a line from the NASCAR comedy film Talladega Nights – “I’m not sure what to do with my hands!” In another bizarre instance, Biden’s head drooped down onto his chest as his hands were held down at his sides. It looked like he was asleep, or like he was a robot that needs a battery recharge.

Biden forgot Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s name at one point. No wonder she’s not answering or returning his calls.

In perhaps the most bizarre moment of the night, Joe Biden gets a bizarre grin on his face as he’s looking out in the crowd. He announces that he’s spotted Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott in the audience. It actually wasn’t the Baltimore mayor, who was not in attendance at the Town Hall. It was Democrat Congressman Kweisi Mfume. Biden didn’t realize his mistake, and it’s probably a good thing that Anderson Cooper didn’t correct him. Biden might have exclaimed that he’s never been able to tell “those people” apart.

During a question about China, Biden casually remarked that he’d send American troops off to fight if China threatens the tiny island of Taiwan. Nobody seemed stunned by this, but it should be alarming to everyone. China is testing hypersonic missiles that defy the laws of physics, can be equipped with nuclear warheads, and can hit targets anywhere in the world. Our military’s best and brightest generals are kicking Navy SEALs out for refusing COVID vaccines and studying “white rage.” But whatever. Joe Biden is ready to send your kids off to World War 3.

It’s simultaneously sad and amazing to see how rapidly F. Joe Biden has declined while in office. He looks way worse than he did on the campaign trail. How much longer do his handlers think they can keep this up?
