It’s not just carbon emissions that environmental activists need to worry about. Eating meat apparently also poses a grave threat to the planet’s continued existence, at least according to Democrat Senator and presidential candidate Cory Booker.
Booker, who is vegan, not only wants to encourage others to follow in his footsteps but also pass actual laws that would interfere with non-vegan individuals’ right to choose their own diet.
As Booker recently told VegNews, he believes that billions of meat-eaters will have a negative environmental impact on the planet and that the earth simply cannot sustain them. Claiming (without providing any sort of evidence whatsoever) that there simply isn’t enough land to provide for a growing number of meat-eaters, Booker says that his goal is not to tell people what to eat, but rather to take on large agricultural companies and stop them from polluting the environment by deforesting areas to use as grazing land.
Booker’s apparent diet alarmism is not without a sense of irony. The fact Booker is an avid supporter of draconian Green New Deal proposal that calls for massive federal government interference in the lives of every single person in the United States is just one example. The Green New Deal resolution has made it clear that the goal is to eventually get rid of “farting cows” (in other words, all cows) and such a move would naturally leave meat-eaters bereft of not only beef but also milk, cheese, yogurt, milk chocolate, ice cream and a host of other dairy-based treats.
It isn’t just ordinary people who need to worry about Sen. Cory Booker’s aversion to meat. The New Jersey Democrat’s hardline vegan stance is sure to affect him throughout his presidential campaign as the overwhelming majority of people in the United States don’t embrace the vegan lifestyle. To make matters even more complicated, presidential candidates who are serious about their campaigns are expected to head to Iowa and engage in local activities to show themselves “relatable” to normal people. Such activities almost always involve eating the local food, and that food is almost always animal-based. Sen. Booker’s refusal to eat anything that does not conform to his strict vegan diet is sure to make him appear out of touch with regular Americans.
While there is certainly nothing wrong with veganism in itself, it is a rigid diet that should not be forced on people who do not want to adopt such a lifestyle. Sen. Cory Booker’s comments regarding the unsustainability of producing more meat in order to satisfy a growing number of meat-eaters coupled with his support for the Green New Deal and its drastic measures to supposedly reduce problems caused by climate change should alarm those who would prefer that the government stay out of the lives of ordinary people.

Cory Booker needs to understand that because he is vegan you do not push that on others. I have friends who are vegan and will eat that way even when they eat out but never do they push any one else to eat as they do.Of course this is socialism plain and simple.
