Cruz Unleashes Fury at Border Crisis as 10k Migrants Camp Under Texas Bridge

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz released a video from his trip to Del Rio, Texas, on Thursday, where he shared strong words for President Joe Biden in response to more than 10,000 illegal immigrants staying under a bridge along the border.

“It’s a maddening crisis,” Cruz said in the border video. “Just over a week ago, there were fewer than a thousand people here under the bridge, averaging between 700 and 1000. Then, on September 8th, the Biden administration made a decision to cancel deportation flights back to Haiti. The vast majority of these illegal immigrants crossing into Del Rio are from Haiti.”

“The 700 to a thousand people who were here discovered they could stay, they pulled out their cell phones. They called their friends, they called their family, and eight days later, 700 people became 10,503.

“When you have open borders, this is what you get,” Cruz concluded. “This is wrong. This is not humane. This is not compassionate. This is lawless, and it is inviting suffering. This needs to end.”

Cruz is right. What is humane about 10,000 immigrants living under a bridge? Is this Biden’s compassionate response? Is this what is looks like to not keep kids in cages or not separate children from their family? Immigration under the Trump administration was never perfect, but it was far better than the current disaster in Del Rio.

You know what might help? A wall. What else might help? Enforcing the law. Walls and laws would put an end to this nonsense. But now there are thousands of Haitians on the Texas border, and most of them are unlikely returning to their place of origin.

Instead, your taxpayer dollars will fund their processing, their housing, their transportation, and likely their welfare for an extended period of time as they transition from their own poverty-stricken culture to America.

But when that many people arrive overnight, it doesn’t necessarily make their lives better. The large scale entry also makes life worse for everyone else. That’s why legal immigration sets limits for how many people can enter at a time. It’s about both security and order.

But those are two things not happening in the Biden administration. Since when did Biden has a secure border? When did he have an orderly process in place for immigrants to enter the nation?

Keep in mind, this crisis is in addition to the tens of thousands of Afghan refugees airlifted to America. Thousands of Afghans are now also living on a military base outside of El Paso, Texas. In total, we may eventually have up to 95,000 Afghan refugees living on military bases in eight states.

With incoming Afghans, Haitians, Mexican, and Northern Triangle nations, there seems to be no plan to slow the tidal wave of illegal immigrants entering our nation. We’ve always been an immigrant nation, but an illegal immigrant nation is an entirely different matter. We’re about to find out the lasting impact is also different as the Biden administration continues its disastrous border policies.
