Leading voices in the Democratic Party are manipulating the tragic death of George Floyd to pave the way for domestic terrorists and hate groups by defunding police departments across America.
In Minneapolis, where George Floyd was killed in police custody, the city council has brokered a veto-proof majority who are determined to dismantle the department.
“Our commitment is to end our city’s toxic relationship with the Minneapolis Police Department,” city council president Lisa Bender said. “It is clear that our system of policing is not keeping our communities safe. Our efforts at incremental reform have failed, period.”
Among the nine-member super-majority sits Jeremiah Ellison, the son of Antifa-supporting Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. Antifa has been deemed a domestic terror organization by President Donald Trump. Often clad in black and carrying blunt-force weapons, these violent anarchists infiltrate otherwise peaceful demonstrations and incite violence. Antifa members have been arrested for arson, destruction of property, looting, arson, and assaulting police officers during George Floyd and Black Lives Matter peace marches.
“Defunding MPD, by the time we’re ready to do that, we will have a fully formed new public safety strategy in place,” council member Ellison said. “There are things that we’re going to have to do in the next couple of weeks and months, right? We’ve got the budget coming up. We’ve got this huge budget shortfall because of coronavirus. We also have other public safety strategies that are not the police that we’ve sort of failed to fund.”
Democrat “Squad” members, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar are relentlessly pursuing and effective end to law enforcement. AOC has advocated for defunding NYPD — the nation’s largest department — and leaving citizens to effectively fend for themselves. Anti-cop Mayor Bill de Blasio is echoing her calls to strip the NYPD.
“The details will be worked out in the budget process in the weeks ahead. But I want people to understand that we are committed to shifting resources to ensure that the focus is on our young people,” de Blasio said. “I also will affirm, while doing that, we will only do it in a way that we are certain continues to ensure that this city will be safe.”
New York City succumbed to out-of-control rioting when the left-wing mayor refused to include National Guard support as businesses were burned, looted, and officers attacked. So lawless did the city become that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo threatened to oust de Blasio and take control.
Rep. Omar, who has strong ties to the Nation of Islam, an antisemitic, anti-White hate group, demands the complete and total dismantling of the Minneapolis PD.
“The Minneapolis Police Department has proven themselves beyond reform,” the Congresswoman tweeted. “It’s time to disband them…”
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced he would follow suit and slash the city’s law enforcement budget by upwards of $150 million.
The president and fellow Republicans are voicing their concerns that slashing police budgets will embolden criminals. There’s a reason law enforcement is commonly called the “thin blue line” and hamstringing officers will put everyday families in harm’s way.
“This is dangerous, counterproductive, and deeply irrational,” Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw said. “Defund the Police is not a call from the fringes of the far left anymore. It has gone from a radical slogan to actual policy in a major American city, within days.”
