A long-time Democrat was just indicted on massive corruption charges which suggest he took money to help foreign nations and, surprise, surprise, his left-wing colleagues are defending him!
Democrat Senator Bob Menendez was hit with federal corruption charges after him and his wife were caught taking massive bribes.
“The Senator and his wife accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes….. cash, gold, home mortgage payments, jobs, cars, and other things of value” in exchange for “using his power and influence to protect and enrich [New Jersey] businessmen and to benefit the government of Egypt,” US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams said.
Special agents discovered $500,000 of cash stuffed into envelopes in closets. “Some of the cash was stuffed in the Senator’s jacket pockets. Some of the envelopes of cash contained Daibes’ fingerprints and Daibes’ DNA,” Williams added.
This Democrats’ corruption was so blatant that even the Biden DOJ – which is built to turn a blind eye to left-wing scandals like this – was forced to indict the senator.
How have Democrats responded to one of their own being caught taking bribes? With support of course! Top Democrats, like Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, who is chairman of the Judiciary Committee, have voiced their opposition to the idea of him resigning and of being guilty.
Durbin defended Menendez, who has faced multiple corruption investigations over his 30 year political career, by claiming that the politically motivated charges against former President Donald Trump are “equally serious.”
In an interviewer with CNN’s Dana Bash, Durbin was asked about Menendez, “He is due in federal court on Wednesday on bribery and corruption charges, including allegations that he received gold bars, a luxury car, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes and he gave sensitive government information to Egypt. He is denying these charges, I should say. But many Democratic members and officials in New Jersey are saying that he should resign. Do you?”
Durbin responded with an answer that only a Democratic politician would give, saying that the indictments against Trump were also “equally serious charges.”
“These are, in fact, indictments that have to be proven under the rule of law,” Durbin said. “The person who is accused is entitled to the presumption of innocence. And it’s the responsibility of the government to prove that case.”
Bash pushed back, noting that a lot of Democrats have said that Menendez should resign.
“Well, keep in mind that these are charges, and they have to be proven. And there is a presumption of innocence,” he said. “How far it goes, in terms of his future service, is something to be decided by the senator and the people of New Jersey.”
The Democrats are so delusional that their leaders are trying to pretend as though the blatant political persecution of Donald Trump is the same as a 30-year left-wing politician being CAUGHT taking bribes to help foreign nations get a leg up on America.
Dick Durbin need to resign himself! He has done way more damage to every CONSTITUTION LAWS! He has refused to force these democrats politicians out that has violation the laws. Menendez MUST have stepped on some “big” Dems foot, since he’s now getting the “mar-a-largo” FBI treatment! This guy has ALWAYS been crooked & only got off “the last time” with a “Spanish jury”. Kinda like O.J. Simpsons’s jury in Ca. Menendez”s goose is cooked since N.J. IS the MOST corrupt Democratic state in the nation!, and his a–s is grass. 90 to 1 odds that Bonnie -Watson Coleman will replace him. She’s the most liberal No. Jersey Dem in “big” N.J. cities in Hudson, Bergen, Essex & Morris counties. Drives me “NUTS” that these counties control the state.
