Elizabeth Warren Is Just the Sequel to Hillary Clinton

The new year began with an announcement that anyone with half a functioning brain could have expected for at least six years — Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is running for president.

Since unseating incumbent Republican Scott Brown for the U.S. Senate seat in 2012, Warren has been incredibly popular among progressive Democratic voters. In many ways, she represented the first wave of Bernie Bros before the Vermont socialist became a household name through his own White House run in 2016. However, that popularity seems to have waned. The once-beloved progressive lawmaker appears to have sat through her sell-by date.

Warren places herself firmly to the left of the average mainstream liberal, but appears to speak the language of your typical establishment Democrat. In a way, she has her feet in both camps — she lashes at Wall Street just as much as Bernie Sanders does, but in a way that more closely resembles Hillary Clinton’s finesse.

Hilariously, her presidential run is not what’s making headlines — instead, her cringe-worthy livestream on Instagram is getting far more attention.

In case you haven’t seen it, the senator is seen awkwardly fumbling around on New Year’s Eve in her kitchen. She introduces her husband, who appears to have accidentally walked into the room, and then she remembers that she has to connect with the cool kids by drinking a beer on the holiday. The entire thing seems robotic and forced — as if she was being told what to do through an earpiece the entire time.

Remember — this is an ivy league professor.

With a new wave of Democrats taking Capitol Hill by storm, it’s hard not to see what she’s doing here. Warren is shamelessly imitating the freshly sworn in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 29-year-old former bartender who ran a far-left campaign to victory in New York in November. Ocasio-Cortez, often referred to as “AOC” by her fans, has been known to livestream on social media while eating 1-minute meals or something else millennials can relate to. So cool.

Saw what you want about AOC and her insanely stupid socialist ideals, but she’s authentic. She appeals to millennials easily because she is one. Elizabeth Warren isn’t authentic, and that’s painfully clear for anyone who struggles through watching the video.

Mark Dice has more on this below — and you can check out the cringe for yourself.
