By now, the vast majority of people have accepted “the new normal.” What’s harder to accept is the fact that people seem to feel that circumstances are copacetic in spite of the fact that more people are being put out of work, the major national and global “health” organizations are being caught making massive miscalculations, the number of (recorded) deaths continues to rise, and images are coming out of New York City of bodies being stacked three coffins high in mass graves.
This is not normal. To be clear, we do not deny that the COVID-19 crisis has been caused by a real pathogen that is killing people. However, we know that the death count has been inflated and that people are accepting martial law in countries all over the world over a crisis caused by a contagion that is far less demonstrably deadly than car accidents, medical error, or the common flu.
By contrast, Taiwan has completely crushed the pathogen within its borders. They did so by acting early, closing borders, providing universal (voluntary) testing, and by not conflating deaths caused by Coronavirus with deaths with Coronavirus.
The problem has been exacerbated by misdirection from the World Health Organization (WHO), the CDC, and by the Democratic Party. All of these went public early on to tell us that wearing medical masks was not only useless but that it could make the contagion worse. That’s right, the World Health Organization, the Center for Disease Control, and people like Nancy Pelosi actively sent messages to the public claiming that wearing face masks is a bad idea.
In the early stages, people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 were flown from China into the US, Canada, and Italy. This was done without the knowledge of the other passengers. Also, until recently, certain immigration checkpoints in Canada were admitting refugees with no medical testing and no vetting whatsoever.
There was also a concerted effort on the political and cultural level to make saying that the virus came from China taboo. It was said that calling it the “Wuhan Virus” was racist.
During the early days of the initial outbreak around the last week of February, Nancy Pelosi, according to CBS San Francisco, “… Tours San Francisco’s Chinatown To Quell Coronavirus Fears.”
While there, she made a point of inviting people to come out, to not wear face masks, and to congregate in areas that are now known to be major contagion points.
“It’s exciting to be here, especially at this time,” Pelosi said. “We want to be vigilant about what might be on the horizon — what is out there in other places. We want to be careful how we deal with coronavirus. But we do want to say to people, come to Chinatown. Here we are, again, careful, safe, and come join us.”
In short, the socialist Left has done its best to disarm us against a contagion that has short-circuited the economy, and people will die from the resulting poverty. The question is, will they be held responsible?

Prior to covid, he ended our involvement in the PREDICT global program to identify potential virus threats, ignored a “black swan” warning from the Army on Feb 3 about the disastrous potential of covid, dismissed a CDC report showing that the US was unprepared, dismantled the NSC’s Pandemic Response Team in May 2018, scrapped the annual DHS review of pandemic preparedness, blew off a warning just last fall from Operation Crimson Contagion about our lack of preparation, and totally ignored the playbook resulting from a meeting with the outgoing Obama admin.
He wasted several weeks before responding, and then his response has been woefully inadequate. All the health/medical providers are stressing the need for more testing and equipment while Trump says it’s not needed—and more people die. He’s adamantly refused to effectively use the Defense Protection Act to compel manufacturing to produce more equipment (FDR turned Chevies and Fords into tanks and planes in little more than a heartbeat). He’s the guy who said that only he can fix it, but with covid he ran and hid, insisting that the governors do the work and he’ll be the “backup.”
His woeful and deadly incompetence, his grievous lack of leadership has cost lives. He didn’t cause covid but he allowed it to be much worse than it otherwise would be. It didn’t need to be this bad.

He hasn’t “ignored” any valid information from anyone giving their professional analysis, as any leader should do he disregards opinions from people that don’t have standing to make assessments. If the CDC wasn’t prepared why didn’t they prepare, the president of the United States doesn’t micro manage every government employee he has more important things to do. The narrative of him dismantling the HSC’s pandemic response team has been proven wrong quite a while ago, he found overlapping unnecessary teams between the HSC and CDC and moved the HSC group into the CDC’s team.
