Former Twitter CEO: Embrace Left-wing Activism, or Be SHOT

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong raised eyebrows when he publicly announced to his employees that his business would focus on business, not activism, and that those who didn’t like the shift were welcome to leave. He even offered a generous exit package to employees who wanted to prioritize their wokeness over keeping their current jobs.

However, it seems that he’s also awakened a thirst for blood in at least one far-left liberal who can’t handle the fact that a businessman thinks a business should focus on turning a profit instead of promoting a social justice agenda.

Former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo raged on Twitter that people like Armstrong should be among the first to be “lined up against the wall and shot in the revolution.”

Surprisingly, Twitter hasn’t made a move to censor the remarks — even though it has censored conservative pundits for comments that were far less offensive. In fact, even the President of the United States was censored on the platform earlier this year when calling for the National Guard to be sent out to quell riots.

Twitter made it a point to warn its users that President Trump was “glorifying violence.” One can only imagine the hysteria and outrage that would ensue if the President dared to make a comment similar to the one that Mr. Costolo freely shared with his followers. Clearly, people with the “right political beliefs” can say what they like, while those who dare to oppose the PC agenda should be silenced at all costs.

What’s even more appalling than Twitter’s blatant prejudice against conservative users is the fact that far-left individuals actually agreed with Costolo’s horrific suggestion. Parker Molloy, a transgender journalist who has written for left-leaning news outlets such as Huffington Post, Salon, and Rolling Stone, fantasized on Twitter about how wonderful life would be if Costolo were still CEO of Twitter.

A company owner who works hard to build his or her business should have the right to decide the direction that the business takes. If a company owner wants to put a premium on wokeness, that is his or her prerogative. On the other hand, if a business owner wants to focus on his or her core goals without mixing politics into the equation, that is also his or her right.

If you follow a number of blue check marks like Costolo, you’ll notice that such users are becoming disturbingly more open about their Che Guevara-like fantasies. And while we can be sure they’ll never receive the same treatment as some of the more edgy pundits on the right, there is one benefit: they are free to express who they truly are — for everyone to see. Hopefully, that will make a difference with time.
