Believe it or not, there was a time when the Democratic Party wasn’t absolutely insane. True enough, you have to turn the clock back quite a bit to get to that point, but it does exist. Sure — they’ve always been wrong about a lot of things, but the Democratic Party today presents America with an existential threat it simply didn’t when Ronald Reagan ran against Jimmy Carter.
Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz says he’s been a Democrat his whole life. Remember, this is the same guy who told his baristas around the country to write “happy holidays!” instead of “Merry Christmas” on his customers’ cups so as not to offend the extreme minority of Americans who don’t celebrate Christmas in some way. This isn’t a right-winger by any stretch of the imagination.
But there was a time when being a “liberal” was not the same thing as being a “leftist”. The liberals of old liked the free market. They liked America’s republican form of government. They opposed authoritarian socialism. At the end of the day, liberals were simply people who thought the government had a bit more of a role to play in our daily lives.
This is very different from the way cultural Marxists want to rebuild the entirety of our civilization from the ground up. These leftists oppose the free market, and they certainly oppose the system that allows it to flourish.
Howard Schultz is no conservative, but he’s definitely a liberal in the classical sense — and that’s exactly why Democratic Party leaders are scared to death that he’s seriously exploring a bid for the presidency in 2020.

Just a statement of fact for everyone to digest. We need to stop using the name Democratic Party. That organization died with the last administration. They are and continue to be the Marxist/Socialist Party. We need to call them who they are. There is no denying it. Their platform is totally Maxist/Socialist. They want this country to be run by a dictatorship. That is their goal. They will not admit it because one of their basic tenets is to lie and obfuscate. If we start calling them by their correct name people will start to realize what they have actually become. The party of JFK, FDR and Harry Truman is DEAD!!!!
True Mr. Cole and my words exactly! I was a Democrat until Bill Clinton turned the White House into a Whore house and then I switched to the Republican Party. It is amazing to me how many democrat people don’t realize the change in the Dem Party.

There no longer is a “Democratic Party” except in name only….it is now and has been for decades, the “Progressive Party” of socialism/communism and anything else of evil consequence. So not a problem.
