The closing of a bar in Staten Island, New York sparked a peaceful protest from local patrons and other New Yorkers opposed to the state’s draconian COVID-19 lockdown order.
Mac’s Public House, which declared itself an “autonomous zone” in reference to the lawless protest that occupied several city streets in Portland, Oregon, remained open in defiance of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s restrictions. Sheriff deputies then closed down the bar for serving food and alcohol to patrons without a liquor license.
The bar’s owner has joined other small business owners across the country in opposing the economically devastating effects of lockdowns and stay-at-home orders. New York state has been one of the most egregious offenders of constitutional liberty during this period.
New York sheriffs reported no arrests during the gathering to protest the bar’s closing. Imagine if all protests were like this…
Pro-lockdown tyrants remain extremely reluctant to give up the enormous power they’ve exerted over their subjects since the pandemic lockdowns began. Despite the fact that the World Health Organization is cautioning that lockdown orders should be a last resort, Governor Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio continue to prefer issuing very harsh restrictions and penalties.

Cuomo has let his position go to his fat head. He is on an ego trip that will never end. Protesters need to show up at his home and the police should stand down and let history happen. There is a rebellion coming and it is going to be ugly. While they’re at protesting they should go to CNN and msnbc and harass all of them. What makes me mad is why do these police follow the mayors order, when they are being defund. Police have our back, we are supporting their cause, why can’t they do the same for the citizens that pay them? The mayor and governor do not write their check we do.
