White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was blasted by reporters on Monday over President Joe Biden’s immigration moves — including a new report that the government is considering spending money to house illegal immigrants in hotels. The news comes just weeks after the president allowed National Guard troops who protected him during his inauguration to sleep in a cold parking garage.
One reporter asked Psaki, “One of the options that’s being reported over the weekend is spending $86 million on hotel rooms for some migrants and feeding them. How did you square that with the National Guard troops who were sleeping in parking garages, and some of them got sick from having contaminated food?”
To be fair, there’s no good answer to this question. Psaki noted, “That’s a disparity a lot of people are pointing out, that our National Guard was treated one way and then illegal immigrants are going to be put in hotel rooms.”
She noted the administration’s quick response to change the situation for the National Guard, though the issue should have never occurred at all. But the contrast with Biden’s treatment of illegal immigrants is too much for Americans to endure.
We live in a nation where a homeless veteran can sleep on the streets of an American city and receive less help than an illegal immigrant who has just walked across the border. There’s something deep within patriotic Americans that says that’s not right.
If Biden’s administration spent a fraction of the time they have invested in “climate justice” or “assisting regional migrants” in helping America’s veterans, we’d be in a much better place.
President Trump understood this. He was known for hugging the flag and supporting our troops. Biden? He’s the invisible president who has opened the doors to the border to create a refugee crisis within America.
Maybe someday Biden will actually hold a press conference and address the issue. If he can read the teleprompter without a gaffe, we’ll likely hear his thoughts on unity, but he continues to ignore reality.
The reality is that Biden is intentionally setting up the nation for failure. We can’t leave the border door open and hope everything will work itself out. It’s the same reason we lock our doors to our homes at night. It just takes one wrong person to do a lot of harm.
The same Rio Grande River crossed by Central Americans can also be crossed by Iranians. ISIS and Al-Qaeda know how to swim too.
Twenty years after 9/11, our nation appears to be facing a new attack. This time, the enemy is not flying at us with airplanes. Our new enemies are liberal politicians in Washington who are allowing our nation to be destroyed from within.
Plus, the number of illegals now flooding our nation are creating harm for everyone, immigrants included. With thousands of unparented kids sleeping in camps, we’re not helping the kids or Americans. We need to put a new lock on the door—in the form of Trump’s border wall—before the nation is damaged beyond the ability to be repaired.
