Americans have a long-standing frustration with the double-standard that allows political elites who commit crimes to roam free and prosper for things that would land everyday people behind bars.
Perhaps no political power-broker has thumbed her nose at the law more brazenly than Hillary Clinton. Unfortunately for Hillary, Judicial Watch has become the bane of her existence, and now she will have to sit for a deposition over what many believe was an unlawful use of a private email server.
“This is the case that broke open the Clinton email scandal way back in 2015. It’s about the Benghazi talking points. The judge wants to know, what was Hillary Clinton thinking when she was using this system as it relates to the Freedom of Information Act. He wants to know about whether there are document issues related to Benghazi,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said of the court victory. “We just got a Benghazi email showing that they had a Benghazi email for years that they were holding back. And if they had disclosed it, the whole email scandal would have been exposed years ago.”
It’s no secret that Clinton used a private email server to send and receive confidential government intelligence in violation of federal law. Despite signing an affidavit acknowledging such procedures were a crime, disgraced former FBI Director James Comey interceded on Hillary’s behalf in an investigation, and refused to charge her. It’s widely believed that Comey — a well-known leaker — was under the assumption she would become president and look favorably on his intervention.
During the email scandal, Deep State operatives within the FBI sidestepped established protocols to shield Hillary from making statements under oath. Her alleged criminal activity put national security at risk, and many believe Russian and Chinese hackers penetrated the server and leveraged her email to hack other high-level officials. The judge overseeing the action Judicial Watch brought clearly agrees that full disclosure in the email scandal and other issues has not been accomplished.
“The court agrees with Judicial Watch — it is time to hear directly from Secretary Clinton,” Reagan appointee Judge Lamberth said. “Any further discovery should focus on whether she used a private server to evade (the Freedom of Information Act) and, as a corollary to that, what she understood about State’s records management obligations. The court is not confident that State currently possesses every Clinton email recovered by the FBI; even years after the FBI investigation, the slow trickle of new emails has yet to be explained.”
Fitton has gone on the record stating that it’s a “disgrace” that Justice and State department lawyers continue to protect Hillary from coming clean about the Benghazi coverup and the implications of her non-secure server use while Secretary of State under Obama. It has taken nearly five years of court battles to force Hillary to sit down and answer pointed questions under oath. What stings the conscience of hard-working Americans is that anyone other than a Washington-insider would be doing time.
It is about time. No one is above the law. She did what any other Federal Employee would have been penalized had they committed the same crimes. She committed a crime and I hope it comes to get her and very soon.
