Vice President Kamala Harris is set to appear on the talk show “The View” on Friday, but has no plans to visit the nation’s southern border for a view of the growing border crisis.
“The vice president’s appearance on ‘The View’ marks her first in-studio talk show appearance since being sworn in as the country’s first female vice president, who is also a woman of color,” ABC News reported.
The interview plans to focus on “the latest on the COVID-19 pandemic, including vaccines, hesitancy, misinformation, boosters and the impact of the pandemic on women in the workforce, as well as issues surrounding Afghanistan, immigration and voting rights.”
The television appearance comes as more than 12,000 mostly Haitians migrants remain under the Del Rio bridge along the southern border. The shocking video footage has caused the border crisis to return to the forefront of the nation’s headlines.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas arrived in Del Rio on Monday where he gave remarks on the situation. However, neither Harris nor President Joe Biden have announced any plans regarding a border visit.
Harris visited El Paso, Texas, briefly after months of neglecting the border crisis. She arrived just days before a publicized visit by former President Donald Trump.
While Biden can’t seem to go anywhere except weekend vacation trip, Harris finds ways to travel everywhere except the border. She’s been to Vietnam and South Asia, conveniently out of the country as the Taliban took over Afghanistan.
When the Del Rio migrant crisis began, Harris had just finished a long journey to help campaign for California’s Gov. Gavin Newsom as he faced a challenging recall election.
Now she heads for another travel appearance to “The View.” She may even address the risks of travel during COVID as she continues to conduct her travels.
But the real contrast is her avoidance of the border when that’s where the real crisis is. She proved she could find El Paso a few days before Trump, but as the person tapped to lead the immigration response, she had done absolutely nothing to stop the border crisis.
No urgency, no laws, no arrests of illegal immigrants and no way the numbers have made a significant drop. More than 200,000 illegal immigrants have crossed the southern border in each of the last two months. We’re now on track for more than two million by the end of the year.
You know who doesn’t have two million people? The state of Delaware, the place Biden keeps disappearing for a visit.
You know another place that doesn’t have two million people? “The View.” Despite claims of a large viewing audience, it’s nowhere near the number of people who will cross our border illegally this year.
But Democrats don’t want to hear about numbers when it comes to immigrants. They don’t want to admit a crisis. They only want to be seen as compassionate to immigrants, knowing the future of their party is based on importing voters rather than finding them among America’s patriots.
