Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer became a left-wing media darling by playing politics over the COVID-19 crisis. While one of 50 governors making requests to the federal government for resources, Gov. Whitmer went rogue, insisting her requests get priority over hard-hit areas such as New York City.
“I’ve asked repeatedly and respectfully for help. We need it. No more political attacks, just PPEs, ventilators, N95 masks, test kits. You said you stand with Michigan — prove it,” she was quoted by fake news leader CNN targeting the president.
President Donald Trump, in classic twitter form, referred to the impetuous Michigan governor as “Gretchen ‘Half’ Whitmer” and her state’s requests were handled in the same timely fashion as others. The president noted that “Half Whitmer” was in “way in over her head” handling the pandemic. He must have a crystal ball because her fascist and short-sighted edicts set off a revolt.
Protestors recently swarmed the state’s capital chanting “lock her up” after the extremist governor implemented the most rigid and punitive Stay at Home order in the nation. The executive order restricts citizens’ movement to only essential reasons to even leave their homes. Residents are subject to penalties for visiting relatives, and retail outlets are forbidden from selling any product she does not consider essential.
“It’s taking a sledgehammer to an ant. We believe it is over-broad and over-reaching. There is a way to do it appropriately without infringing on Constitutional rights like the governor has,” Michigan attorney David Helm reportedly said, who is spearheading a lawsuit. “We are not arguing for political dissidence or any sort of protest. What we are saying, is that people have the right to associate with their friends and family. And that is being unjustly infringed.”
Michigan Conservative Coalition and the Michigan Freedom Fund organized citizens to implement what is being called “Operation Gridlock.” Thousands entered Lansing and caused massive traffic jams while honking their horns in protest.
“We can get this rally done and stay within the social distancing guidelines,” Marian Sheridan, a Michigan Conservative Coalition co-founder reportedly said. “Citizens are frankly tired of being treated like babies. As adults, we now know what needs to be done to stay safe.”
Ironically, the protestors stayed within the CDC social distancing guidelines. But even had they not, Michigan Sheriffs are refusing to uphold her unlawful order.
“She has created a vague framework of emergency laws that only confuse Michigan citizens,” four county sheriffs stated in a letter. “Each of us took an oath to uphold and defend the Michigan Constitution, as well as the US Constitution, and to ensure that your God-given rights are not violated. We believe that we are the last line of defense in protecting your civil liberties.”
More than a quarter-million Michigan residents signed a petition rejecting the governor’s order, and more than 343,000 joined a Facebook group called “Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine.”
Attorney Helm recently filed a pair of federal lawsuits on behalf of Michigan residents, arguing her Nazi-style order is inconsistent and violates long-established American rights.
“We have a hard time reconciling how you can go to the store, but you can’t go out on your fishing boat. Or you can go to an employer who is essential, but a one-man tree trimming operation is not,” Helm reportedly said.
Hope she loses next time.

Look at EVERY State, City etc, see which ones are doing the BEST, then look at whose running the Government & you will know which Party, Candidate etc. to vote for in November, Just remember NOTHING is Free, someone somewhere is paying for it. Medicare for all sounds good, so WHY are Canadians & others coming to America for serious health problems ? My Aunt in Scotland was put on a waiting list once she got old, sometimes 2 years till she got care, is this what you want ?
