When Iowa Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks defeated Rita Hart in the state’s 2nd District race, Democrats went to work looking for loopholes to steal the election. Led by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and her insurgent liberals, a Democrat majority on the House Administration Committee appears poised to set a precedent by overturning the free fair election.
In one of the nation’s tightest 2020 races, Rep. Miller-Meeks reportedly won by a razor-thin six votes. Commonsense and fundamental fairness dictate that an Iowa election board conducts an impartial recount. That’s precisely what occurred. Miller-Meeks’ lead did decline during the non-partisan recount, but she held on and prevailed. The Democrat cried foul, arguing that ballots that did not meet state law requirements for timeliness and other standards should now be included. In other words, Rita Hart advocated lawlessness to get her way.
“We have said from the beginning of this recount process that the most important thing is that Iowans’ voices are heard and their votes are counted fairly,” Hart said. “Moreover, under Iowa law, the recount was limited to the universe of ballots initially counted after Election Day.”
Her statement appears to indicate she wants non-legitimate ballots integrated to sway the contest in her favor. And while candidates in close races routinely petition local and state courts for clarification, Hart wants nothing to do with state election laws. Instead, Pelosi’s Democrats are asserting federal power over Iowa voters. They claim Congress — not Iowa residents — decide who represents voters.
“The plain language of the FCEA (Federal Contested Elections Act) does not require a contestant to exhaust all state remedies before filing a notice of contest — a notable omission, given that Congress routinely includes statutory exhaustion requirements in other contexts. The Committee should not read into the FCEA an exhaustion requirement where none exists,” Hart’s lawyer Marc Elias reportedly said. “There is no uniform requirement found in House precedent that a contestant must exhaust every possible state judicial remedy before filing a notice of contest. Indeed, such a requirement would directly intrude upon the House’s constitutional mandate to judge the elections of its members.”
What power-starved Democrats are proposing is to leverage a law they created to usurp power whenever they please. The House Committee on Administration already voted against Miller-Meeks’ request to end the charade. Backed by Pelosi, the Democrat-run committee is looking for a way to void the will of Iowa voters and stated it would investigate and review written arguments by both parties.
Given the recent history of left-wing election fraud, it seems they are looking for a way to control election outcomes and the House indefinitely. Adding insult to injury, Elias reportedly represents politicians on the Committee, making the entire thing smell like a witch hunt.
“This action not only sets a dangerous precedent for future elections, it reinforces the false belief by many in our country that our election system is rigged and that certain politicians can change results to fit their whims,” a GOP letter to Pelosi reportedly states.

Kudos to all who will fight these radical left Democrats (Democommunists, actually) who have no regard for our Constitution, but only permanent power for themselves – it gets more and more obvious every day. This issue of Iowa is only a sample of their agenda. The party STINKS of corruption and needs to be voted out of office! IT IS VITAL TO AMERICA AS WE KNOW IT to ensure the defeat of HR1/SR1 (which is UNCONSTITUTIONAL SIX WAYS FROM SUNDAY) and remove any illegal interference with the restoration of Congress to the GOP (and not weak-kneed RINOs, but Trump-sponsored, America-First Republicans who believe in our Constitution) in 2022!!
